Angels and Airwaves?

Running an alternative radio station, we get a bunch of albums in daily to try to get on.

I never knew Angels and Airwaves is Blink 182s old singer. So I never gave it a listen. But their first single is blowing up right now, so I took a listen.

I LIKE IT! A LOT!

I never really liked Blink except for a couple songs, but this has a bunch of 5-minute songs with extended intros and end-choruses......which I really dig!!!

Anyone hear these guys yet?? Anyone like 'em??

I think so - gimme 5-10 minutes and I'll make an audio file with clips from the whole album.

This is about 30 seconds of each song, 1-10 in correct order.

Let me know what you think!

Got the album. I quite like it. Different than Blink, but as Tom said, "he grew up" and wanted something different. Lots of electronics. Blink isn't officially split up, but haven't got anything on the cards apparantly. The guys actually haven't spoken to each other in more than a year. Tom said he doesn't see A&A running side by side with Blink, therefor i would say it is safe to say that it is possible but unlikely that Blink will do something again. (Maybe only when they need money again :))

30 second clips sound a lot like Blink slowed down to me. Not a bad thing. Blink was always a guilty pleasure of mine. Nothing deep but always a fun listen.
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.

  • Why won't he do anything else with Box Car Racer? They are much, much better. I'll be depressed if they only ever do 1 album. Whats the point in that?

Well there it is. We're sure it was a one-off?

I cant stand the A&A stuff, this is coming from someone who hated Blink.....by any chance have any of you heard what DeLonge has said about this? It's so fuckin pretentious-hes been saying shit like "We just made the best album in 20 years", "This will be our Nevermind", and "This will be one of those legendary albums everyone will still be talking about in 40 years"...wow

in my opinion the only thing connected to Blink thats worth a damn was the Transplants. Damn I miss that band
I've faced it, a life wasted, and I'm never going back again.
