There was almost a fight at Black Crowes at festival pier in Philadelphia, and I was almost involved, a dude decided it would be cool to crowdsurf, anyway to make long story short I got a boot to my head which is normal in that situation but there were a lot of girls around and when the guy came down there was a headlock angry words etc, I mean I can expect that scene at Ozzfest, but Black Crowes? thats crazy.

I was at this show too. The black dude crowdsurfed and ended up going over the barrier. Security then escorted him out. During the last show of the main set, an argument happened between a white dude in front and a black security dude. The white dude shoved the black dude in the chest (dumb move). The black security dude then came over the barrier to get at the dude & take him out of there. Some other fans tried to stop him (another dumb move). It didn't work & the dude was escorted out.

I thought mosh pits were retarded to begin with but this is just another good example. This is really sad.

Yeah, I'm guessing murder isn't a "family value."

yo DUDE you told it exactly like it was, the black dude, I think he came to the wrong show or didnt know the scene maybe he thought this was heavy metal concert. There was also a real big white dude (about 6-3, at least 230) and he picked up the black dude, and then another skinny white dude in that lame ass collar shirt thats coming back in style(I guess Izod style from back in the 80s) and was carrying him around like attempting a crowd surf(because no one thought crowd surfing was a good idea except for this one solitary asshole I guess), this was the dude that hit me in the head. This was happening about 5 feet from where I was standing... The scene with the security guard we all saw it too it was quite a commotion, but off to my left so couldnt make it out too good, I was standing dead center...

This kind of thing is just so scary to read. It reminds me of the Metallica concert I went to. I wasn't in GA, so I was totally fine, but just watching people mosh, and actually just fight, and throw other people into it, and litteraly just punch and beat eachother, it was so scary.

Not to change the horrible subject of this mans death, but let me say that I'm just happy that I can go to a Pearl Jam show, and bring my brother who is 11 or my girlfriend and not have to worry about fighting or some guys grabbing my girlfriend. Its sad that people cant just the enjoy music and truly feel that emotion of the music without starting a fight.

hey thanks for sharing that, its great to hear

and as the question asked on the link, yes he should be tried for murder
  • Thank goodness he's been found. Seriously though, not a good few weeks for concerts. This past Saturday I was at a Tool concert where 15 people were hospitalized. I was right in the worst of it and let me tell you, it was the obscenely drunk macho guys looking to pick fights that ruined the evening for everyone. Like with the koRn concert, these guys are so concerned with roughing people up that they forget about the music and as a result people get hurt or even die.

I used to be a really big koRn fan and their shows were always a great time. Sure, there was moshing but if you fell or got hurt, someone would help you out. Sadly, it looks like those days are over.

First of all, I am so happy that the neanderthal who did this was caught. What an awful thing to happen to anyone.

That said, there are ways to minimize the chances of this sort of thing happening. It's probably not the best idea to take your pregnant girlfriend and a mentally handicapped child to one of these shows. It's common knowledge that a lot of assholes go to these sorts of shows. It sucks that in this day and age you can't go enjoy music you like because of jerks like these, but not seeing a show is better than subjecting your girlfriend to this kind of potential hazard. This guy made a poor choice, but not one that deserves being murdered for. Perhaps the small glimmer of good that will come of this is that some people will experience a new lease on life due to the organs he's generously donating.

I have seen situations like this at all types of shows (obviously not ending in this type of tragedy). I just don't get it. I'm a happy drunk! Some people just don't belong anywhere near alcohol or other people for that matter.

  • hmm. Do people kill people at concerts when they're drunk or when they're stoned?

Exactly! I've never seen a stoner who is inclined to get off the couch, let alone kill someone...
