Wow when I said that the Kirtland records people and the Toadies have hearts of gold, I really mean it, and there is plenty proof why in yet another awesome batch of pics from an amazing concert.

The Toadies kicked off their 9 date tour in Houston to a sold out very energetic crowd at the Verizon wireless theater last night, and trust me Toadies fans musically the setlist was an awesome Christmas gift for fans of the Toadies. When they said they were going to mix it up they did just that. I did not get an official set, but here is what was played and I know the songs are going to be out of order a little bit.
The lights went out, and we were treated to an instrumental intro piece that sounded really familiar, and it was. Black Sabbath's song "war pigs" instrumental was a really unique start off, and then the Toadies came on one by one to thunderous applause and cheers.
Then the thunderous riff of Mexican hairless kicks everything off in high gear. Mexican hairless made an excellent opener and got the crowd pumped.

The set:

Mexican hairless
Mr. Love
I come from the water
Little Sin
Push the hand
Run in with Dad (an Old one for Toadies fans from way back!!)
Ruth (from pleather ep)
Got a heart (From pleather ep)
Away
Quitter
Happy face
Possum Kingdom
Paper Dress
I Burn
Encore:
Pressed Against the sky
Tyler
Santacide
Back slider
Velvet

Great show and it was probably the best one of the 3 Toadies shows I have seen in the last couple years, but then again a Toadies show is ALWAYS great and filled with so much energy I love them all.

It was my first time meeting Rez, Clark, and Mark Hughes, great people and I had alot of fun.

Acoustic set at Hard rock:

Very cool experience of seeing the Toadies in such an intimate setting. The songs sounded almost like coffee house rock (that's a good thing, there is a serius radio station that plays tunes like this.
Set:
I come from the water (sounded beautiful acoustic)
Dollskin (Absoluttely amazing, wish I had it for you guys to hear, I was blown away how unique and pretty it sounded.
Possum Kingdom.

The Toadies got a standing ovation at hard rock cafe for the acoustic greatness.
I got to chat with Vaden and Dale (from Kirtland for a little bit.
They told us keep up the good work, they appreciate it. I know they do.
Austin people you get Toadies next, have a blast.
Thank you to the Toadies and Kirtland records, you all rock. Thanks so much!
I went all over the place, my seat, the pit, the catering room upstairs, I couldn't believe Todd personally hooked me up with a backstage pass and then I got to go to the after show meet and greet where only 100 people got in.
The Toadies have been and will forever be in my top list of favorite bands.

I've always really liked the Toadies. Saw them open up for Bush like 12 years ago and thought they were awesome.

I saw this on their myspace page. Kind of a dig at Pearl Jam.

"Let’s face it; the music industry isn't the same as it was 10-15 years ago. They just don't make 'em like they used to. Remember when the rock/alternative scene was good? It was a long time ago, I know. Bands don't sound like The Toadies, or The Pixies, or Nirvana, or the old Pearl Jam (before becoming political activists) anymore. Now we have to live with, and listen to generic crap rock, nu metal & American Idol rejects. Music needs redemption, dammit."
