HOT DAMN! WOW! Vaden was not kidding when He said Houston was a great crowd and the setlist proved it. this show blew the 2006 Dallas show out of the water! The setlist was SICK!
A Huge THANK YOU to fellow LAMFer and Burden Brothers fan HR. It is because of her kindness that I got to attend this phenominal show. I can't wait for my disc live cd from the Dallas one. The Toadies are on FIRE and rockin everyone's ass.
Here's the set: :D
I come from the water (a NICE opener for a show), plane crash, Backslider, Quitter, Away, Little Sin, Mr. Love, Push the hand, Happy face, UNATTRACTIVE (YESSSSS!),Waterfall (from feeler the unreleased album),Tyler, doll skin, (cheap trick tease of I want you to want me/zztop la grange riff)Possum Kingdom.
Encore: PAPER DRESS (YESSSS!), Heel, Cut me out (from Escape from L.A. soundtrack), I burn, and Velvet.
Vaden was having so much fun he wanted to keep going but due to curfew had to stop. He said there is a Toadies documentary being worked on.
To tease us with Tyler (people were chanting it) and Vaden says " I know it's a great Texas town" and they launch into the song with a glorious sing along. What a show! Those live cds are going to make us all very happy
The Feds and Bring back guns opened, and Good Lord, did the crowd dislike Bring back the guns. There was booing and nasty comments being yelled during their set. ouch!

I will be sure to let you all know when they play more shows. All the band members are now playing in other bands that are their primary focus. However, the Toadies do get back together and play a show in their hometown of Dallas once in awhile, but decided to give Austin and Houston shows this year too.
There is a Live disc (only5,0000 copies are being pressed) of the Dallas show today and you can order at http://www.disclive.com

  • one of the best bands from texas, ever. certainly the best of the grunge-ish sound. a nice part of living around dallas is the constant toadies and pantera on the radio.
bombs, dropping down, please forgive our hometown

Very underrated band in my opinion. Wish they were still around producing album after album of solid material.
  • any hope for Lolla perhaps?

  • I saw them in Dallas this weekend. Pretty good show while they were up there. They were only on stage like an 1 hr 10 minutes or something. It was good just not long enough.

I went to the Dallas show last year, and it was way too rough and crazy. It was nothing but a Drunken moshfest. Being that it was 21+ Only there were 10,000 people in this little area on greenville and Yale, and it was so hard to breathe at times, plus getting kicked by crowd surfers. That's why I went to Houston this year. How was the crowd this year in Dallas? Hopefully it was more organized. There is a live cd of the Dallas show thiis year. Order at http://www.disclive.com. I think there are some left, cause only 5000 originals are being pressed.

I used to manage a movie trading company and Vaden would come in with his wife and kid all the time...very cool guy. Unfortunately I missed the Dallas show, but hopefully I'll catch them next time around.

That's funny because when I saw the Burden Brothers open for Hinder (not saying I'm a Hinder fan...just wanted to see the other opener, Black Stone Cherry) they totally sucked. But after they played a Toadies song it got better...but they then returned to their songs so it began to suck again. Hey, this was in Houston too. The Warehouse.
Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.

This is one of the reasons why i miss being in Texas at times. DAMN! the toadies touring Texas...that is pretty cool. Kind of reminded me when they did their 'farewell shows' and only did them in Austin, Dallas and Houston. i kind of wished I attended the Austin one several years back. *sighs*

man Kyle, you are one very lucky man. You got to hear TYLER?! I LOVE that song!!! lucky! Lucky! Lucky!

but I must admit, the Burden Brothers are pretty awesome too! :D

Thanks Meddledeal! :D Vaden Todd is one really cool guy. He always takes time to hang out with the fans / answer emails and the bands always sign stuff after the shows. Tyler is a great song and one of the first one's I learned on bass, although I may play it a bit differently. It is such a Great song. I am so glad they played some of the rare soundtrack songs this year.
