Hey Everyone,

I just found out I'm going to ZZ top on Saturday! I was wondering how they are live? Even though I like a ton of their songs, and live in their hometown, I haven't seen them yet. Just curious how they are? weird line up too cause
David Allen coe, Hank williams lll, and Old 97s are opening. Looking forward to it regardless, just wanted to see what they are like live from experience.

Thanks all. :D

Saw ZZ Top a few years ago and they were awsome. I hope I can rock out like that when I'm that old.

Hank Williams is another story. I saw him several years ago and it was the worst concert I have ever been to....hands down. He sang 5 or 6 songs maybe and that was it. The worst part about it was there was a bunch of people running up and down the aisles screaming white power:( It was horrible.

I last saw them in '04 or something. you will have a blast.

Old '97s are pretty solid as well.

Damn straight.........The Red Rocker as the opener......He put on one helluva show too.....ZZ Top had to work hard to top him......but LaGrange as the closer put them over the top.

The ZZ Top show was Great. It was Great to see our city's (Houston) Biggest and most famous band live. This was their first time to play the Woodlands pavilion which was cool. It POURED rain during ZZ's set and only let up fpr the last 3 songs. They had this huge tarp covering the soundboards which made it hard to see on the lawn unless you stood up but with the sky pissed rain the majority of the show, but it let up tpwards the end, but the lawn was a marsh. Glad we had lawn chairs!

Got Me Under Pressure, Waitin for the Bus, Jesus Just Left Chicago, I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide, Pincushion, Cheap Sunglasses, Pearl Necklace, Heard it on the X, Just Got Paid, Rough Boy, Blue Jean Blues, Foxy Lady, Gimme All Your Lovin, Sharp Dressed Man, Legs, Tube Snake Boogie, La Grange, Tush. I really enjoyed all the other bands too, as I also went for old 97's. They played "Murder or a heart attack" "Timebomb" and a Merle Haggard cover. If I can find the rest of their set I'll post it caise they were excellent. A friend of Mine works with a guy who is good friends with Rhett ( lead singer) so hopefully I can find the whole set real easy.
The crowd was VERY rude to old 97s and that irritated me. They put on an excellent show. I hope to see them again sometime soon.
Seemed like the Majority of the crowd were there for Hank Williams III and David Allen Coe.
Hank III was ok, just not really my thing, but then again I'm not a country music fan really.
David Allen coe was pretty good, and had some fans that were reallty there to see him... you could tell. He played several songs including a kid rock cover of "cowboy" (Unless DAC wrote it? don't know, same with "Can't you see by Marshal Tucker band, unless DAC originally wrote that too? He also played "Take this job and shove it" (thinks it's a cover too), and a song called Wille, Waylon, and me." There were several more, just don't know what they were since I'm not familiar with his stuff. He did talk about his "rebel meets rebel" album that he recorded with Pantera members back in 2003, and I think he played a song from that.

Saw them a few years ago, and they were awful. Dreadful. Easily one of the worst shows I've ever seen.
Are you too good to tango with the poor poor boys?

    Zombie thread. I know.

Saw these guys tonight. They were entertaining as fuck. Straight up, down and dirty rock and roll. They are as tight as ever and genuinely great at what they do.

  • Pearl Necklace. I Thank You.

Love these guys. Don't listen to them much anymore, but there was a time when we listened to these guys all the time.

They're a fun band. Not exactly what I want to hear when I'm feeling all philosophical, but there are times when their music is just right for my mood.

The guitar tones alone are enough to suck me in and make me pay attention.

I'm very glad to have had the opportunity to catch them live.

Also, their albums on vinyl sound fucking great.
