I just found out yesterday that I get to go see The Who tonight at the United Center!

I've been looking around for information on the internet; reviews and such, but I'm not completely satisfied with what I read. So I'm wondering if anybody on here has seen them this tour, and am interested in your thoughts, such as sound, crowd, and ratio of new/old songs.

Thanks!

Eddie: I don't know whose idea it was but it was turned down.

I'm going to Toronto in December. Most of what I've read/heard so far has been good, 1 review deducted points because the band didn't seem as comfortable with the new material like they did the classics.

  • I was thinking about going, but the cheapest tix is 52 bucks plus service charges. I love The Who, but i hate the fact that almost every band from the 70's charges an arm and a leg to go see them. Definitely not goin to see the stones for the same reason.

...btw, this is what makes tom petty the man. His tix are usually 35 and puts on a stellar show. I've heard good things about the who live though. hope you enjoy

  • I am going next month, is there someone out there who has seen them already this tour?
  • if you're seeing them on 9/25, 9/26, 9/29, or 9/30 make sure you get in to see the opening band, moe.

Got tix for Dallas last Saturday morning for November 17th. The pretenders are opening, should be an awesome show :D I broke down and bought Peter Frampton tix this morning for October so my wallet is basically crying, but these shows are worth it.

  • saw them during Virgin Festival last Saturday. They are better now than at any time since the late 60s early 70s (which I can only judge by videos).
  • Saw them a couple of months ago in Leeds at a festival. Very good even though they had a few technical problems. Think Pete and Roger were having issues with each other as usual too :D
    But yeah pretty damn good.

Just got back from the London show. I think the word I'm looking for is "unbelievable", with a "fucking" throw in for good measure. Magical night; amazing setlist, with lots of new stuff and even (gasp!) an oldie I'd never heard live before ("The Seeker"...although I've heard Pearl Jam cover it live). Just magical. Thank you for the music, guys, and thank you for still doing it. Can't wait for Toronto.

I am seeing them next week in Vancouver and have no idea who's opening. I've tried WhoTour and various fansites but I can't find anything. Anyone know?
