New album is going to be out June 19 per http://www.whitestripes.com Here is the cover for "Icky" http://www.whitestripes.com/IckyThump/cover_art/ kinda different other album covers.

Oh btw, here's a review of the album. Comparing Icky Thump to Physical Graffiti!!

    well.. cant have too few White Stripes threads :)

    p.s. watched Blackpool Lights again tonight (hadnt seen it for a few weeks or so!!) Black Math just fucking nails me to the floor... and then Jack The Ripper, Astro, etc etc... fuckin awesome :cool:
    oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

    Haha, that looks awesome. Apparently there's no piano on this record? This kind of makes me sad... I love their piano work, could do without the Marimba (as Jack has said there's no Marimba), but the piano... dang... usually that's integral on a Stripes' album, aye?

    Seriously can't wait though.

    So dunks, are you gonna get a hollow body ?? They seriously rocks for slide blues. Little Birdy ...........hoo.................gives me shivers to hear that riff, and it's pretty easy to play.

    Yeah, I've seen one pic of that. It's porn !!

    Bet it's trestle braced !! ACtually, is it a solid body or hollow, I'll have to do some research on that later. Going surfing now. I'll PM when I get back.

    Tuning question too. ON the Broken bricks tab site, they have Death Letter in open G, but ti sounds way too low when I try and play with either teh CD or Balckpool Lights ?? Any ideas, or a different tab site ??

    hey man... ive got a Total Guita magazine article with The Raconteurs in which he talks about his Gretsch and stuff.. i'll scan it in and Pm you the links (probs Monday when at work :cool: )

    Broken Bricks is a good tab site but i've found some of their tabs to be wrong or i should say... not specific enough!

    read that review yet? sounds like this album could be a throwback to De Stijl and earlier... i.e. less piano more dirt :D

    Sorry, searched but didn't find anything about it. Besides, as you said...can't have enough white stripes threads :D

    I personally like the quote "If "Get Behind Me Satan" was predicated on piano, marimba and White's experiments with pop, "Icky Thump" is all about electric guitar and giant drums."

    I actually liked the marimba though. Added another great dimension to their work imo.

    Personally, i can't wait to hear "You Don't Know What Love Is (You Just Do As You're Told)" and "300 mph Torrential Outpour Blues"......and every other song on here. They all sound fuckin great :D:D
