Black Crowes in NYC

Got tkts for tomorrow nights show at the United Palace.

Thier site says: TBC w/ Speacial Guest Patti Smith. what does TBC mean?

Also, those who have seen them this year, tickets say 8pm, what time should i expect to see them go on? I am guessing 9.

    TBC = The Black Crowes

    I saw them 2 days ago in Dallas. They went on about 9:00. But in that show doors were at 7:30 and the opening act was at 8:00.

    Go to their Halloween show. They will come back for the encore. and do several covers of a certain band. They have done ACDC and the Beach Boys in recent years.

    Regarding the holloween show, i checked their site / setlists and didn't see anything resembling covers. I think STP used to get dressed up for holloween shows.

    Last night was a good time. Easy access from jersey, cool venue and good music.

    saw them this summer at Central Park... they were awesome!

    They went on at about 9:15

    Okay, I hear some pretty amazing things about the Black Crowes live. I have the first two albums from them, and I like them and listen to them occasionally, but that's it. Anyway tickets are still available for the Philly shows.... do you guys think I should go? I'm kinda strapped for cash, and the other thing is that nobody I know really likes the Crowes so I might end up going alone. What do you think? Is it worth it for an extremely casual fan to go alone?

    Crowes were always my favorite band, so trust me when I say this:

    don't go see them, they are just going through the motions. if you are at all interested in their music, trade for 1992-1997 shows and unreleased studio stuff.

    what's the parking situation around united palace?

    parking around the united palace was not too bad - i parked on the street. to give you an idea, i left northern jersey at 8:55, and i was on the beverage line at 9:10. the venue is not that big, so there is not a big battle for parking.

    Regarding parking, i am not sure about lots ... thier site says they exist, but i didn't see any, but i was rushing a bit (as seen by my times). there was a police presence around the venue, and there are cars parked everywhere.

    2005 they played 3 AC/DC songs
    2006 they played a few Beach Boys songs

    That was 2005 they did BC/DC? Wow, I thought that was last halloween, seemed like just yesterday!

    nope - he was sold out. it's ok i have always wanted to see the crows - i didn't realize they were playing! ryan is good but depressing - crowes are far more upbeat :)

    Too many line-up changes is the only thing I can think of.

    Look at the set-lists for the recent tour compared to the sets from 2005 and 2006 when Marc and Eddie were in the band. Longer shows and much, much more varied sets in '05 and '06.
