It was a great show...while it lasted. 3 or 4 songs into it Ryan started complaining about his voice going out and being sick. The strange thing was, he sounded great. After about an hour, Ryan apologized to the crowd and the Cardinals, and they all kind of abruptly left the stage. Lots of booing when the lights came up. They sounded great, really liked the new material, and looking forward to the new album...just wish they could have played a normal set. They have a post up about it at the website.

Hi everyone, Brad here…I’m on the bus, heading home, after a long 3 weeks. We have all battled illness, I had a bad neck for a few days, and tonight, Ryan lost his voice. I heard it last night starting to go, I heard it today at radio, getting rougher, and tonight, it finally gave. Believe me, we ALL wish tonight’s show had not ended the way it did…it left everyone unsatisfied…Ryan, the band, and especially you, the audience. I’m sure Ryan will address this himself at some point, but we certainly did not intend for tonight’s show to go off the way it did…sometimes, shit just happens… As far as making up this show to the Atlanta audience…we owe you one…Atlanta has ALWAYS been a city that has shown us lots of love, and it breaks my heart to pull out of there feeling like we let you down. I know some people will understand, others may have already written us off…please, let us make it up to you. Somehow, someway, we will make this right. Thanks to everyone who came…you guys are the best, and you deserve the best…much love…I’m going home to sleep until Monday… yours humbly, Brad

Yeah i was second row last night,, highly dissapointed but I totally understand and am not angry. I wish they would have tried different things like Neal singing but Ryan has to protect his voice. People were pissed, lots of drunk frat boys booing and saying aweful things. Talked to Jon Graboff after the show and I told him that I thought Ryan sounded great and he replied, "We all did and we kept on telling him he sounded great."

The only thing I dont understand is that this was the last night on their tour and they have over two weeks off. Also, after first stating that his voice his shot he went on to perform The Sun Also Sets, which is quite possibly the hardest song to sing for him, pushing it wise.

Also note to Ryans booking agent. Dont book your artist in a fucking outdoor bigass corportate amphitheater that you cant even come close to fill in the dead of Fall.

Big fan of Ryan and while he may have lost a lot of casual fans last night, I am not one of them and look forward to their return.
