hello,

so i've been reading alot about someone by the name of 'purple chick' on the internet who has re-mastered all of the Beatles (and many others) discography.

i found out about it in rolling stone (google: purple chick +beatles +megaupload). unfortunately, i have not been able to really get a good source of them. most sites get taken down...

ex: http://lagrimapsicodelica.blogspot.com/2007/06/beatles.html

so, has anyone heard of this? any good?

i can't wait for apple to remaster the beatles so i can re-purchase them...

  • Purple Chick sets are not "remastered". They're just compliations made from various bootlegs. If you're looking for the albums proper, look for the Doc Ebbetts transfers instead. Here are the ones to look for:

Die Beatles (aka Please Please Me) (German LP)
Beatlemania! (Wide Mix) (aka With The Beatles) (Canadian LP)
    Magical Mystery Tour (German LP)
and "Blue Box" remasters for the rest of the albums

Those are the best sounding versions, better than the CD's and all the other vinyl.

BTW...Stay away from the MFSL's. They sound like ass!
