Love the Toadies! Pretty psyched that they're actually going to be in my town (Amarillo, TX) in September. It's been WAY too long!

Going to the Houston show Aug 29th. It will be my 4rth Toadies show. Vaden Todd Lewis is one of my favorite vocalist ever. Also he is one of the coolest and nicest people around. The band does sign autographs after the shows. Only show I am not sure about having stuff signed at is Lolla. (I could be wrong). But considering they have a headlining spot and it's a festival, may be a little different set up for this one. Again not totally sure though.

Just got my tickets in the mail for the Houston show yesterday, this will be my 6th Toadies show!! Or 7th if you count that acoustic set they did at the Hard Rock Cafe. Anyway, they're obviously one of my all time favorite bands and I'm really excited for the show and the new LP.

Ah the memories. I remember listening to them back in college, they had that one song that got radio play. Forgot the name, something about out by the barn/toolshed?

LOL, :D the name of that song you're thinking of is Possum Kingdom. It was the first single from their multiplatnum selling album "Rubberneck". "Ruberneck" spawned 4 radio singles: "P.K". "I come from the water", "Tyler", and "Away". "Tyler" is probably considered THE Toadies song. Everyone goes absolute Bonkers when it's played live. I believe "Backslider" and "Mr. Love" were to be singles because they do have videos made for them but they were never officially played on MTV.

Due to Interscope records Rejecting the Toadies second disc, "Feeler" the band was forced to re-record many of those tracks and spent most of those years on the road and trying to record songs that Interscope would approve. In 2001, "Hell Below/ Stars Above" finally was released, but was poorly represented by Interscope and the band was dropped by the label. I think mostly because of the "shifts" in music Hip hop got a bunch of big artists around that time and the bubble gum thing had taken off, (The money making "in" trend to a major label)and that's why the Toadies were sandbagged by the record label. They (Interscope) did absolutely nothing to promote HB/SA. There were some really good songs that could have been singles.
Hopefully, "No deliverance" will be a success considering the Toadies are now on a label that lets the band have creative freedom.

This makes me so happy! My 16 year old daughter was going through my old CDs the other day and discovered them and is now hooked so she will be thrilled also.

Toadies rule. Super stoked about this. Amazing live band and truly cool people. Hung out with them and chatted after the show last time I saw them. And they played just about their entire catalog including b-sides and soundtrack songs. Just all around great band !!

yea, it sucks that this is what most people think of when the Toadies are mentioned. they're actually a great band that got F-ed in the A by their label. they still have a large fan base in Texas,

Yep yep...Todd Lewis has one of the best voices in the biz, and between Toadies and Burden Brothers, he's written his fair share of magnificent tunes.

fuck yes, this is great news. you made my weekend. Toadies are easily one of the top 10 greatest bands of the past 30 years. this is such great news.

I take it Lisa is not back on bass? if not, that's the only shitty part.

Nope Lisa is not playing bass. I don't think Lisa will be back with the Toadies. Mark Hughes of Baboon (another great Dallas band) has taken her spot since Fall 2001. However, Mark has decided not to play with the Toadies on this tour. Not sure, I think he wanted to spend some time with his family or Baboon is getting ready to record a new album.
Doni Blair of the Tx Punk Band Only Crime is the bass player for this tour. Another weird Twist, Doni left only Crime, and was replaced by Zack Busby who played Bass on the Burden Brothers 2nd albulm "Mercy" Todd Lewis's other band.
Lisa Umbarger does have a new band called TILE, they do have a myspace page I believe and have played a few shows already.

For the recording of "No Deliverance" Vaden Todd Lewis played both the guitar and bass parts for the album.
