I Got a free ticket at Alice In Chains last weekend. I just started listening to them today, got all there cds from a friend don't really dig there music too much so far. The bass is good like everyone says but the lyrics are pretty shitty in my opinion. Do they put on a awesome live show that would be worth seeing?

I have never seen Primus, but I imagine it would be a kick to catch them live.« One man's glory is another man's hell.
You’re on the outside, never bound by such a spell.
Together in the darkness, alone in the light.
I took it upon me to be yours, Timmy,
I’ll lead your angels and demons at play tonight......»0 -
never seen them but would love to.Astoria 20/04/06, Leeds 25/08/06, Prague 22/09/06, Wembley 18/06/07,
Dusseldorf 21/06/07, Manchester 17/08/09, London 18/08/09, LA 06/10/09, LA 07/10/09.
Ain't gonna be any middle anymore.0 -

It is defintely worth seeing them, and this will probably be your last chance to see the classic lineup, but the setlists this tour are very short. They seem to be embracing the whole "jam-band" thing (which I despise) and are playing about 10-12 songs a night.
Now they are still playing for around 90 minutes so you can do the math.
Here's an example taken from bt.etree.org:
Primus
11-06-2006
The Tabernacle
Atlanta, GA
Disc 01 - 44:51
01 - 02:11 - Intro
02 - 07:02 - To Defy the Laws of Tradition
03 - 05:13 - Sgt. Baker
04 - 15:55 - American Life*
05 - 05:05 - Mr. Knowitall
06 - 09:25 - Those Damned Blue Collar Tweekers
Disc 02 - 42:02
01 - 02:59 - Seas of Cheese
02 - 07:08 - Mr. Krinkle
03 - 08:52 - Southbound Pachyderm
04 - 08:03 - Over the Electric Grapevine
05 - 08:35 - Jerry was a Racecar Driver
06 - 06:25 - E: Wynona's Big Brown Beaver
This was the only one I could find with the times, but the setlist from Portland only had 10 songs.
I saw them at Lollapalooza in 93 and on their "Tour de Fromage" in 04 when they did the entire Sailing the Seas of Cheese album in it's entirety during the set. Now that was amazing.0 -
Oh hell yes. Hear for yourself:

^^^ There are some free lousy quality shows (some are good), but you get the feel of what they're like.
My only complaint, is they went a little overboard with the jamming for my taste. They made 11 songs an hour and 45 minutes.
Now is the better time if you're a casual fan. I think they're doing their greatest hits.
His lyrics are actually pretty good, but they're weird like Les0 -
Les Claypool is the best bassist I have ever seen live. What an amazing show. I'm a pretty big fan though, but if you appreciate talent on bass, it will amaze you.
Plus Primus is awesome.9/17/95-New Orleans,LA 8/14/00-New Orleans,LA 4/8/03-New Orleans,LA 4/13/03-Tampa,FL 10/8/04-Kissimmee,FL 8/5/07-Chicago,IL 6/16/08-Columbia,SC 6/23/09-(EV Solo)Atlanta,GA 5/1/10-New Orleans,LA 9/21/12-Pensacola,FL 11/1/13-New Orleans,LA 4/11/16-Tampa,FL 4/23/16-New Orleans,LA

I wasn't very impressed with the show...Les is a great bassist so it was cool to watch him play it's hard to understand him when he sings on cd, but you can't understand what the fuck he's saying at all in concert. I've seen 50-60 concerts and it would probably be in the bottom 5 with Incubus, REO Speedwagon, Collective Soul, Particle(worst band ever) but all the other shows I've seen were amazing and usually really big concerts.08-19-08 (Riverside Theater) Vedder(Solo) Milwaukee, WI

Oh yes! They kick ass!!
I've seen them in 1998 at the Pinkpop festival in the Netherlands. Primus was the only band that caused a little earthquake in the Netherlands (because of all the people that were jumping!!)0
