what's the consensus on their shows? good? bad? ugly?
I was lucky enough to get a boot of theirs for xmas and let me just say that they still have it. Their new front man is a welcome addition/replacement, and sounds alot like Shannon Hoon. I would DEFINITELY go!!!!!

Will he wear dresses on stage, and do heroin behind it?
If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?

I went to their show in Atlanta a month or so ago. It was really good. They have tons of energy and the crowd was good too. They play about 3/4 old songs, and Travis does a really good job with them.

I went to the same show in atlanta and it fuckin rocked.
Mostly old favorites. Travis sounds a lot like shannon and the band seems to be enjoying themselves.
If you liked blind melon you will have fun.

I suppose this is similar to the people who said that Alice in Chains is totally rockin' now with William. I tried it, and just couldn't get into it.
When there's something missing, there's just something missing.
I wouldn't go see them without Hoon.

Why advise somebody NOT to do something when you haven't even done it yourself? It's like "hey you probably should not give that a chance, it may not be fun. Then you'll have wasted like a whole 3 hours of your day." Shit I wast 3 hours a day at work. 3 hours I did not waste was going to see Blind Melon with Travis. Yeah, I miss Shannon. I never got to see him live, but that's ok, we all miss things. But when the chance is given, take it. This is one of those chances. The guys are having a BLAST playing again. This was a band, not a solo act. Their energy is felt when you are there, you feel their passion because it is real. This is a great band, and if you have the chance to see them, well take it. Glen's drumstick hit me in the head after the concert, and that made my day! haha

Shannon Hoon and Layne Staley have formed their own band in heaven and are laughing silly at the ones left on earth.
lol.
It's pretty sad that "Blind Melon" is coming here to St. Louis & I won't be there...Oh wait, that's cuz they're NOT Blind Melon anymore. I wish I could have them banned from the city. lol.
