Anyone hear that song "I've been up all night" on the radio, they just keep saying that? Kinda seems like Springsteen lyrics, but if anyone knows what band, please let me know.. It is buggin me! My dogs were whining all night last night and I kept hearing that stupid song in my head all night long!

I remember Slaughter sang a song with those lyrics, but I'm pretty sure that's not what you're talking about...

no, they play it CONSTANTLY on the radio here in Colorado. I thought it was a Springsteen song, but then I listened to it and I really don't think it is Bruce...
I just have the lyrics stuck in my head, something like
"Cause we've been up all night,
    Been up all night,
Yeah, we've been up all night,
    Been up all night
    She's been up all night,
    I've been up all night
Yeaeeeeeeeeahhhhhhh weve been up all night"

It is VERY repetitive, like a Bruce song!

  • Razorlight, a british rock band, has a song almost identical to those lyrics you posted. It's a few years old so don't know if that's it.

I lost the sacred feeling but I
Made a couple of friends and now
Our things have never looked so good
Our things have never been so clear
And now I'm alone with you
    I'm always up all night
And I get music running in my head
And I, I lose the strength to fight
Cause I, I've been up all night
    She's been up all night
We're, we're just up all night

This town is for the counterfeit dreamers
And maybe I'm one too, well I
I keep my hand behind my back when I
I don't know what else to do
The streets that I grew up in, they might mean
    Nothing to you, but I
I'll show you where I come from if you please
Just tell me what I'm supposed to do

Cause I, I've been up all night
    She's been up all night
We're, we're just up all night

That sweet and sacred feeling you know
    Will never last long
Every time you turn around you'll see
One more part of you, yes it's gone
    I need your spirit darling
And lend me your helping hand, and I
I'll meet you in the morning
When I've broken up the band

Cause I've been up all night
    She's been up all night
We're, we're just up all night

And I've been up all night
    She's been up all night
We're, we're just up all night
    I've been up all night...

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

  • Yes, I agree. Razorlight is one of my favorite rock bands. I saw them less than a year ago in minneapolis and they put on a great show. Johnny Borrell (lead singer) came out afterwards and met with a few of us. He was such a nice guy. He's so small though, I couldn't believe it. I thought when i shook his hand I was going to crush it.

I don't know which one you are hearing, but I believe that is the name of a song that is going to be on Widespread Panic's new album. They played it at the New Years show.
"I've got things to do and things to say in my own way..."

Oh, and Jimmy Herring is the shit. Thought I'd throw that in there as well.

Jimmy Herring is AMAZING, I think he is probably the best guitarist I have ever seen play live!(yes, I have seen Mike in action, several times) They play a LOT of Panic on the radio here, this song grew on me after hearing it SEVERAL times!
    Great tune!
I'm need to start listening to Panic again!

You really should. They are "back" now that they have Herring. The George McConnell era was a bit of a struggle, he just didn't really fit the band. Also, you should come to the south and see one of their shows. I've heard people in other places say how boring their shows are, and well I can say that is just not the case down here. There is seriously an enormous amount of energy in the crowd when they play.

Mine too. & Hey, cheesy as it may be, I still like it. :p
"Oh, a flower you are to my land..."
  • I thought it was sung by The Boomtown Rats? At least that was the 80's version. Love it.

"Up all night, sleep all day!"

For the person who made the "80s were scary" comment, this song came out in the 1990's.
