Hmm, kinda thinking his voice is sounding too low in the mix these days, especially Avacado...

These days, his voice mostly hangs out in his lower registers. Add to that the bottom heavy sound of Matt Cameron's toms and deep snare drum, and the fact that the last couple albums have more of an open, live sound to them, and you get an effect that is probably better for Eddie's current voice, but arguably not as fun to listen to as the old stuff. But just imagine--if they mixed Avocado with an emphasis on the mid-range, and here's Ed with his, uh, "more mature" voice, and it would really get lost in there; they're doing the best with what they've got, I think...
