I've been waiting for them to play LA for two years now (they played Coachella and didn't play a traditional venue in the city in 07). They're playing the Wiltern in LA on Monday March 17 and SOMA in San Diego on The 15th and I got tickets for both shows! Sadly, no Northwest dates for my friends home back though. My San Diego ticket was only $14 ($16.50 with service charge)! Wow. LA was $17 ($26.50 with service charge).

They say on their website that this will be the last tour for a long time and that they plan on "dropping off the face of the earth" June 2008.

  • Whats the best album by them? I need new music to listen to and I am in a concert withdrawal phase (last one I've seen was in August.....)
  • Are they all instrumental?

well I have song off each I like, not reall sure I can pick one

http://www.explosionsinthesky.com has a tracklisting of them all

I really like the newest- all of a sudden I miss everyone, but mostly because I an hooked on the song catastrophe and the cure

they all have a good song or two fro sure, there are some free downloads onthe sight. I would itunes/whatever a mixyture of what you like.

Metallica and Zep trained me to love long songs way back in the day, Explosins does not dissappoint there.

Oh yeah they are insturmental, if so(vocals) they are only to supplement the sound almost like another instrument.

It's "The earth is NOT a cold dead place" not night. And it is a great album.

Anybody know if they sell vinyl at their show? I think its cool as hell that they still make their albums in vinyl, not too many bands do that these days.
