Big fan of My morning jacket and their material , but this song puts a total damper on their latest offering. Its terrible . Its like something from a German metal band

I think this one of the best songs written in the last 5 years. (Pearl Jam songs excluded.)

I think that it is the worst song that they are recorded

I think you just can't take it too serious. MMJ have always had a sense of humor and this song shows that side of them.

I also think it fuckin rocks live and is such a fun song for the crowd to get into. I know when i saw them earlier this year everybody was excited during this song and the place was rockin for it.

Not to mention the solo jam is pretty sweet towards the end.

I'd like to know what it is that people find pleasing about this song. As far as I'm concerned it has no redeeming qualities.

It's hilarious, they are completly screwing around.

    Peanut butter pudding suprise.

It's what happens when musicians instruments drugs and recording equipment get toegther.

It's a fantastic song. Lots of fun and it's a total dance/goofing around song.

Carl and Jim's solos, both live and on the record, are amazing. The tone for their leads is fucking raw animal sex to my ears.

  • It's not their usual emotional, hardhitting stuff, but goddamn if it isn't the most goofy fun you can have with a rock band. And the best part is, you know they put it on there for the sole purpose of being a complete mindfuck. :D
Smokey Robinson constantly looks like he's trying to act natural after being accused of farting.

Was not a big fan of this song. Got the record, so I was sorta forced to just listen to it. Still my least favorite on the album, but that thick gnarly guitar that comes in at the end is glorious. And JJ's giggling and whooping just fit the whole vibe of the song.

Evil Urges is a monster of a record, imo. MY album of the year, hands down.

Yeah, not the greatest song on an album. But played live it kicks some ass though.
  • Highly Suspicious is fucking awesome. The rest of the album ranges from terrible to ok, but let me be clear:

    Highly Suspicious is fucking awesome.

I thought this song was garbage until I heard it live. It was one of the highlights of the night. Now i love it and can't wait to hear it at MSG.

It's a good laugh and the lead parts rip live
“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”
  • We need to start a highly suspicious MSG roll call...

Agreed. I don't mind it as a track of them screwing off, but then I think it belongs at the end of the album. It's not pleasing at all and it interrupts the flow of an otherwise REALLY nice album.
Are we getting something out of this all-encompassing trip?

when I heard the album it put a total downer on it for me

Exactly. It ruins a half-decent album.

I'm reading the responses here, and it seems that there are two things going for this song:

-"Peanut butter pudding surprise" (oh yeah, that's reaaal funny)
    -It rocks!!!! / it's awsome!!!

    Enlightening.
  • Lol, its so hilarious that I love it for some reason

And you left out every time someone said 'it's fun, it's goofing around, and the solos rock.'

I'm glad we have you to judge what ruins an album.

regardless of whether you get it or not, it at least fits the album. At least highly suspicious has a jam on it, i would say Look at You is the real clunker of the album.
And of course this is the band that decided to break up one of the greatest full albums of all time by putting Into the Woods into Z.
