Arctic Monkeys No 7 in the US album charts

Great to see , a great album by a great band.

From what I read here on this forum, alot of americans here don't get them

    i am not an american but still think the artic ... are
    an average band at best...
    they are just a product of stupid NME magazine, that
    thinks the only good bands are from the UK
    like they did the list of best anthems...
    the bands were: smiths, libertins, artic monkeys, oasis, radiohead, blur, kaiser chiefs, franz ferdinand, pulp, babyshambles... the only 2 non UK bands were pavement and nirvana...
    the list has 50 songs on it...
    so fuck NME

    Artic monkeys rarely do interviews and don't attend awards shows by and large. I for one think that they are brillant and in Alex Turner have one hell of a songwriter. Its not their fault that NME shouts from the rooftops about them.

    Pearl Jam didn't want the coverage they got after Ten , Arctic monkeys are likewise

    I saw them on a Conan a few days ago. Absolutely terrible music, but more importantly, the singer played his guitar like an absolute moron.

    I am listening to that new album. So far not that great as their debut, but I'll give it time. It's not bad though.

    i bought the new one on a whim with a gift card, so im contributing to that figure ;) it's true, a lot of americans dont get the brit pop genre. i've always been partial to it myself. i dig arctic monkeys and the kooks.

    im going to go get their first album today. they're a fun little band. there's too little fun in rock these days.

    at the end of the day
    they are not as bad as some emo shit bands...
    but they are not special

    I think they are great and can't wait to see them next month.

    the new album will take a few listens to get used to it .

    I like them a lot...I haven't picked up the new album but it sounds like it's good from what Ive been hearing :)
    These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.

    I think they're popular because they're kids with a sense of humour. They don't take music too seriously but they nonetheless have quirky little songs with a memorable lyrical twist. Good luck to them.

    Arctic Monkeys are pretty bad. Not as bad as those emo bands or Fall Out Boy or Panic but they are still pretty horrible.
