Jimmy Page's Guitar playing

I was listening to Joe Cocker's "With a Little Help from my friends" albums recently and I never realized that Jimmy played on alot of songs.

I think that the album was released in 68 but when did he get to hear what Jimmy was really like( his Zeppelin guitaring) ?

    jimmy was a huge stuido guitarist before zep. i have a comp of a lot of the tracks he did for almost nobody's, ill post a pic of it here:

    I knew of his session work without knowing on what tracks but When was it realized that it was a brillant musicain? On what track and when?
