I went to see Brighteyes and left in love with Andrew Bird! This man is amazing live. Armed with a Violin a guitar and that spinning thing. Sounds like he has a huge band up on stage with him but it's only him. It's funny to see a guy using both of those instruments during the same song.

bright eyes was in town here on friday. i wish i'd gone. i went to see the new pornographers and was kinda disappointed. i've seen bright eyes and they put on a great show. i also wore myself out and couldn't make it to brand new the next night, and they're one of the best live bands out there.

    This screams douche to me.

"has received significant negative attention over two high profile arrests. In 2004, Day was arrested and charged over an incident in which he was accused of locking a fan in the bathroom of his tour bus and destroying the cellular phone of another, for which he was fined.[4] In December 2005, Day was arrested in Boston after reportedly verbally abusing the flight crew while under the influence of alcohol and sleeping pills. He was sentenced to one year's probation on April 26, 2006.[5]"

I actually liked him when I saw him do solo shows, and went to quite a few of them. I hated his "stop the world now" album and hated his show with his new band.

At that point it just seemed like his new found popularity was going to his head. No idea what he's like these days.
  • Andrew Bird as been around for a while but he started out doing "swing" which wasn't really swing. He used to play violin for the Squirrel Nut Zippers and had his own much smaller band called Andrew Bird's Bowl of Fire. They released three albums that got progressively less jazz inspired. From what I read in his bio, because I've never listened to him before, Howie Day released his first album in 2000.

I got to see the Bowl of Fire perform back in 99 on Halloween. They were all wearing French maid outfits. It was hilarious and a great show eventhough the swing dancers weren't quite sure what to do since, like I said, it wasn't really swing music. He really is a great musician and songwriter.

no no, not done yet. we have an intensive trial advocacy class im in. it's a lot of work, but i rather enjoy it. problem is, i know the cross examination and stuf we're doing now is not the kind of trial work i'd get to do until 10 years into my career ;)

Andrew Bird is pretty good... and he is a pretty good whistler.
I like the way he loops the one violin into about 6 pieces... sort of like the way Jon Brion does (except Jon Brion does it with drums, bass, piano and guitar).
And I like that 'Nervous Tick Motion Of The Head to The left' song.
