I just bought this album a couple days ago. On first listen I wasn't sure if I liked it or not, but after repeated listenings it's definitely growing on me. These guys are one of the most unique bands I've ever heard.
"I try my best to chug, stomp, weep, whisper, moan, wheeze, scat, blurt, rage, whine, and seduce. With my voice I can sound like a girl, the boogieman, a Theremin, a cherry bomb, a clown, a doctor, a murderer. I can be tribal. Ironic. Or disturbed. My voice is really my instrument."

Agreed. I don't think you can pin point any band that sounds like them...truly unique.

They are a great band. I picked up RTCM the day it came out and i just have not had time (aka can't stop listening to mastodon) to listen to it fully. I've probalby heard it a 2.5 times now. It is good. I think i'll grow to love it like i did there last album. Wolf Like Me is a GREAT song!

  • I missed hearing this band in the summer when they opened for NIN. I heard they were really good. Very nice too. My friend got tons of pics with them. I'm very jealous.

Top 5 albums of the year, really good stuff. Find their performance of "Wolf Like Me" on Letterman around the time the album came out, good stuff.
