So I just picked this up and while it's appears to be a pretty cool DVD, I'm pretty disappointed that they left off about 7 or 8 songs. Whats the point of releasing a live DVD from a historic show if you are going to cut a good portion out?

I'm a little bored watching it. I don't think it captured their energy like it could have. I think of Live at the Garden and it makes me want to rock out. This DVD just isn't doing it for me.

MTV mentioned it was a 26 song set - the DVD has 18 songs and you can tell they cut songs.

    5 months and I'm in Vegas :D

Just got rid of the DirecTV - atleast it was only $12 and it came with a bonus CD which includes them covering Loud Love!

They only included about half the set?? That's gay.

I don't think they are horrible, but I don't think they are as great as people make them out to be. I'm about at the point where I can't stand Cornell's AS vocals. That's just my opinion though.

Audioslave don't suck. Maybe some people don't like them, but they are all good musicians and at least they are trying to do something new. Are people bitter b/c there can be no SG or Rage. It is shitty, that they edited the vid, but maybe they dont wanna release subpar material. I have heard part of the show, and Chris was strugglin. I would rather they left it out. As for all the AS haters, grow up a little. If you hate the band so much go to their message board and post about it.

Tom Morello and Brad Wilk were interviewed yesterday by Jaxon of Philly's WMMR, and Morello mentioned that the omissions of songs were deliberate. He said something about them not giving everything away at once ... whatever that means. They were really excited about the show in Cuba and felt that they'd been part of something extraordinary.

I was at Best Buy 2 Saturdays ago and I was gonna get the DVD, but when I looked at the setlist I was like WTF? I knew it was not the whole show, so I passed on it.

Any live DVD/CD is going to suffer when they remove the background/crowd noise. It takes from the overall affect a huge amount.

I'm liking this DVD after one viewing, but it could've used a bit more "crazy Cubans going nuts" noise.

But definately no TB2000 or LATG... those two are instant classics (Along with Symphony&Metallica and Led Zep: How the West was Won.
Seriously, just drop the leash already!

aside from the documentary side, which i thought was pretty cool, the rest is a let down. cant get over chris' voice. some times it sounds good, sometimes...well...
only seen it once. i think that's more than enough.

We just watched the dvd. Thought it was great. I don't really understand the criticism of Chris's voice. It sounded great to us. Those f-er's rock. :)

i think its a good dvd but it couldve used some more songs

some of Morello's solos are great, the "Shadow on The Sun" solo kills the studio version

  • I was a little disaponinted with the dvd. I don't think it represents the band to good. Like when I saw them live they were great. Morello is a fucking animal on stage. Like he was unbelievable. On the dvd he wasn't as crazy. It just didn't seem like they were really into it on the dvd. The crowd didn't seem to know what was going on either. Like at the Audioslave show I say there was tons of enery. On the dvd you can't really feel that.

not giving everything away at once. Hmmm. what a good little capitalist he has become.
yeah i too was very excited about the Rage boys in cuba. though it would have meant way more ten years ago.
Raging in Havana yeah that would have the DVD/VHS to get. Zach would have been apoplectic and that would have been so cool. You know that look he gets sometimes at the end of a song when it seems he's going to bite someone's head off.

I feel like I read somehwere that there were two versions of the DVD, and one had the whole set, and the other didn't. But maybe I'm just remembering incorrectly about the special edition having interviews. Don't know...
