Fuckin' A, man, did somebody make a thread about the Gov't Mule show in Boston?

The 2nd set was all Pink Floyd. What the fuck was that? That was so fucking good. I can't believe I was privileged to witness that. Apparently, all the Muleheads knew it was coming, but for me as a casual fan (but a long-standing and fervent Floyd fan) it was a very pleasant surprise. I only paid $30! Best money I've spent in a long time. Then again... there was was that really good weed I got a few months ago...
here's the set list... look at those Floyd classics... they played them so well, and with their own feel.

Yeah they did Houses of the Holy last year. The reason Mule fans knew it would be Floyd was the had seen the poster for the show which gave hints.
it is everything you imagined..
if there was ever a show to get high at.. this was it..

Warren's feel through Shine On especially was fantastic in the Floyd material. Awesome Halloween crowd, a great, great night
so they've finally settled on a permanent bass player? how many years have they been using guests?

From 20003 through late-2008, though, Andy Hess held the helm supremely well, and the Mule really gelled into the "new school" as a four-piece with Andy, Danny Louis on keys, and of course Matt and Warren. Great era IMO, some fine albums, constant and vibrant touring ... smooth, tight, serious interplay. Not for everyone, especially the "old school" headbangers, but hey ... good bands evolve, right?
Anyhow Andy left in September, and Jorgen came in as a complete unknown. He's settling in by all accounts as more of an "old schooler", and certainly held it together during MuleOween
Fans are eating him up, future's looking bright. Some fantastic boots out there from the late-Fall Kinder Revolution mini-tour
that's cool, thanks for the info. i've only seen them live once, and that was back in either 2000 or 2001, can't remember. i listen to them when they're played on the jam station for sirius, but i don't have any of their albums, so i wasn't aware that they had a full time bass player. when i first heard about the constant "guest bass player" situation, i thought it was really odd. but after thinking about it for a while, i realize it was really cool and a nice way to pay tribute to woody.
i'd love to see them again. i keep hoping every year that moe. will invite them to play moe.down. for 9 years in a row, i've been disappointed. not in the moe.down, but the fact that they weren't in the lineup. fingers crossed for moe.down 10 featuring gov't mule.
