I'm sure it won't take long to make it to YouTube......although they just got sued today for copywright infringement by Viacom so maybe not.

That's a prime example of why Axl ditched Slash and Duff. Velvet Revolvers speach inducting Van Halen was even worse than their performance. Axl will soon be back to bury that asshat Weiland.

How Can it be considered a Hall of Fame if Van Halen is in it?

If you listen to Van Halens early albums you will know why they got in. VH Saved the world from disco, kicked ass, and fucked your girlfriend. Thats rock and roll :)

VR's speech was under 3 minutes, it was awful, like they were reading a press bio. They should have had someone who knows what they are talking about do it, shame on the rrhof for that. ATBL was ok( minus wienerlands crap singing), run around was a disgrace no other way to put it.

Didn't Slash ditch Axl? Weiland was bad, but I still think VR is a good band.

Yeah Slash quit GNR in '96, alot of people think Axl kicked everyone out but its not true. Contraband is a bad album IMO and from what I've seen of VR live they are best when doing GNR and STP covers, nothing from them, except Slither, has been any good, such a dissapointing band.

Less dissapointing than GN'R has been for the last ten years IMO. I saw VR live and it was a decent rock and roll show.

i saw this tragedy monday night and i was embarrassed for sammy and mike. i think "why can't this be love" was the worst thing of the entire show. paul schaffer's keyboard sounded awful. that intro sounded nothing like the song. if he was going to play something, couldn't he have done something simple like "dreams" or "right now"?

i can give slash a break because he was playing with a les paul with a fat neck and hot humbuckers, so there is no way he could have gotten near the brown tone that evh had. it was way too gainy. everyone makes mistakes, hell i screw up all the time at my band's gigs, but that is attributed to copious amounts of alcohol and not so much bad or sloppy playing. its not like he tried to fuck it up. i didn't know that the second "song" they played was runaround. i was like "what is this crap?".

they should have waited and inducted them next year. if i were eddie i would have checked out of rehab, flew to the hall of fame, and apologized to the fans for that BS that was passed off as van halen. their induction was the worst part of the entire show. definitely a black eye for the hall of fame.

it's not vr's vault that ed and alex suck and don't belong in the hall.
  • so there is no way he could have gotten near the brown tone that evh had.

Doesn't the brown tone make everyone who hears it crap their pants? The Southpark kids devoted an episode to discovering it. I think Slash found the brown tone because I did crap my pants it was so bad.

it sucked bad. Slash blew it big time. If this was guitar here he would have been in the red.

Agree with every single comment here. I really wish they would have waited. This "performance" was downright painful. What the fuck Scott?? The entire thing hurts like hell but when he hits the "before before before" part???? EW! What was that?? Seriously tragic. :(

Maybe you guys have seen him more than me - I only saw STP once, when they opened for the RHCP, but he was like that then - to me he kind of moves like a cat - this didn't look TOO different, but again, I've only see him live once.

VR's performance was awful. Here's a clip of Slash at his best. I'd forgotten just how killer Slash was back in the day.

yeah, I saw them a couple of years ago and was very entertained. Scott Wieland is a great frontman. The songs are pretty mediocre, but performance-wise, fantastic.
