blue october was supposed to perform at the dc101 chili cookoff tomorrow and they can't make it. one of them needs surgery.

I heard their radio "hit" Hate Me months ago on sirius while on my way to visit my brother in the hospital after he nearly tried to kill himself with alcohol. Needless to say if you've heard the song, it struck home, hard.

My daughter really liked the song and bought the cd last week.....when you put the cd in the computer it takes you to a link on their site where you can see some live videos....and I am very impressed. It was good marketing on their part, two or three of the live songs were off previous records and they are fabulous. I suggest hitting Itunes for Independently Happy (very uplifting upbeat song) and Ugly Side (kinda slow, but love the plugged in violin). Balance Beam is quite a gem too. I find their music, maybe not so orginal but definately creative....on the cd Foiled, all songs have a different feel to them, I can hear influences from all over and most of the songs are pretty unique. I think these guys are pretty damn talented. From what I hear from my daughter they are killing the Hate Me song on the radio by playing it every 45 min., I hate when radio does that.....

They are playing here in Charlotte on July 7th and I really hope I can make the show, they look like they are great live.....their cd hasn't left my player in four days.
