    wow.
    i want to believe you.

    i saw nin 3 times from 94 to 96,

and then twice in the late 90's\ early 2000s

the last two times were MAJOR SNOOZEFESTS ...

But i've heard a lot of good things from people who've seen them recently ...

maybe trent is "back in to it" these days,
but goddamn, it was boring last time i went ...

pretty pictures on a screen doesn't make up for an apathetic, boring stage performance, which was IMHO what he was attempting to do when I last saw him ...

now, in '94, with Manson, he was fucking spot on, and disturbingly angsty.
If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?

NIN is an excellent band...I really want to see them live.

PS: btw...wrong forum, let's keep the order ;)
  • man i wish I was at a NIN show last night!
ive seen them like 4 times...chicago in 2000? and then a club show in philly, in cleveland and in wilkes barre in the past year. FUCKIN amazing! i love NIN. their shows rival pj shows. YES they do....the intensity is enough to blow you away!

    im jealous! :)
Seems that needlessly it's getting harder
To find an approach and a way to live
Are we getting something out of this
    all-encompassing trip?
  • OMG! not anymore!! they were hyper as shit!! only 2 ballads all nite, one being Everyday is Exactly the Same! well here, this is from a review of last nite's show!!
so they MUST have changed quite a bit!! haven't been that tired after a show in forever!! lol I even had to move out of the pit, cuz i'm too old for that shit....got a full beer down the back and that was it!! but the show was WELL WORTH IT, YOU SHOULD GO SEE THEM THIS YEAR!! it will make up for you past experiences for sure! ;)

Opened with Pilgrimage chanting into Mr. Self Destruct (behind the opera gauze) - continued with (in no particular order) Sin, Terrible Lie, MOTPigs, Line Begins To Blur, The Frail/The Wretched, Gave Up, Closer, Burn, Eraser, Right Where It Belongs, Beside You In Time, The Collector, Wish, Deep, Reptile, Please, Only, Every Day Is Exactly The Same, Hurt, Starfuckers, Head Like A Hole (I may be missing one or two) -- great setlist, the crowd was really into it although there were plenty of seats still available... I wish I could have heard "Something I Can Never Have" but hearing Please and Mr. Self Destruct and the most kickass version of Reptile ever made up for it...

I'd be guilty of neglect if I didn't mention that although I've only ever been to three NIN shows, I have never seen as much onstage carnage as I witnessed this evening at the Resch - it was fucking chaotic. Trent, Jeordie and Aaron all smashed their gear during Head Like A Hole - Jeordie's guitar was smashed beyond repair mid song, so he spent the rest of the song at the mic. Aaron seemed to be really into it tonight, swinging his guitar to and fro, dry humping his amp and all - Trent dropped a mic stand into the security trench and threw his mic into the crowd several times - at one time I thought Alessandro was going to take a flying leap from the top of his keyboard stand but backed down... it was fucking crazy. Plus for those who were there and sitting in the seats, did you see the pit during "March of The Pigs"? Unfuckingbelievable.

At one point, Trent mentioned that "Tonight feels pretty good to me - in fact there's no place that I'd rather be... and I'm not just saying that, I mean it..." or something to that effect. A very cool thing to say, and if by chance you should happen to come upon this review, Trent, Alessandro, Jeordie, Aaron and Josh, you guys kicked my fucking ass tonight - you should definitely be proud. Valentine's day sucks ass, but you guys made my day... See you again soon, I hope...

    haha, that's great.
I was lucky enough to see NIN live in december last year, they played in Buenos Aires and put on a kickass show, of about two hours non-stop
    Relentless... and so good.
A few mellow numebrs here and there to give the crowd (and band) a rest - including some personal faves like Hurt, and Something I can never have
y la banda de Guille... cuando toca?
