I think I will be doing a single day ticket for REM... hopefully there will be some other good stuff that day as well...
The Man has a branch office in each of our brains, his corporate emblem is a white albatross, each local rep has a cover known as the Ego, and their mission in this world is Bad Shit.

I'm going to see if I can score some VIP passes for the weekend, but no way am I missing REM.

They're website hints that this could be the beginning of a touring season for them (http://remhq.com/news_story.php?id=641).

My wife and I have been talking about this and are excited to see what is going on with Blind Melon's reincarnation.

Can you give a brief update? I think we'd like to check them out there, and, if it proves to be good, again at Langerado.

Voodoo was excellent! We had some problems coordinating with my brother-in-law (who had our passes), so we didn't get into the festival until late Friday afternoon. Caught about half of MOFRO's set and met JJ Grey in the VIP later.

The whole weekend was fantastic. We really enjoyed Spoon, Wilco, Ben Harper, and the Black Crowes. Rage was, well, hard to explain just how incredible they were. Had a fun listen/look at the New Orleans BINGO! show, too.

I'd do it again in a moments' notice. Sorry that we didn't make it in time to catch your band, though.

    How'd you like the festival?

Fucking amazing. Rage blew me and pretty much everyone else away. The only poor performance I saw was from the Smashing Pumpkins...they really disappointed me. Wilco was an incredible way to end the three days though...

oh and my band was amazing...take a look...

Thanks for the links. I sure am sorry we missed your performance, but not everything was under my control that day. We did enjoy the Aquarium of the Americas that morning and the French Quarter/French Market areas most of the time while not at the festival.

I had a moment of deja vu or synergy--not sure what to call it. When we walked into City Park, the first stage we went to was the WWOZ stage. It stood right across the fenceline from Tad Gormley Stadium which (as you know) was the site of a fantastic Pearl Jam show in 1995. Just seeing the stadium again was like a key that unlocked so many memories from that show.

Voodoo was an excellent time this year (minus Smashing Pumpkins). Here's hoping that Langerado will be every bit as fantastic.

Wow, that's one helluva lineup. I thought they started to slip a little last year.

Yeah, I went in '06 and it was excellent.

This year, it took on a bit too much of a jamband festival flavor so we opted out.

But the next edition looks as though it will appeal to a much wider range of musical tastes. I think that's a big plus!

Blind Melon was better than what I expected- they blew me away. It's been awhile since I'd been to the Beta Bar. I hear the new owner completely redid the sound system- and you could tell. Great show all around. I'm starting to consider Langerado. Have you already bought your tickets?

I was thinking about doing the work/volunteer program for Langerado. Anyone here do this before? Is it really hard work? I want to be able to still enjoy the show, but I'm saving for Bonnaroo.
