    A lot more people know about them now than did in the early 90s.

    I got to see them at Merriweather outside of DC, and it was nearly sold out ... thats a full on outdoor ampitheatre ...

    the pixies were a club band in the 90s.

    I owe a lot of thanks to a friend of a friend in highschool who noticed i liked nirvana and jane's addiction and some alt rock and was like, "Man. You like nirvana? I'm gonna make you a tape."

    The tape was 80% pixies, and i was turned on as could be.

    The recordings from 04 and 06 tours are fucking amazing. They have all the energy of old and more.

    Levitate me is my favorite, btw.

    Besides Pearl Jam, the Pixies are the only other band that I have every single album, single or any other recording of!

    One of my fav bands ever. I was listening to trompe le monde today (actually it contains the only pixies song which I don't like, in space I believe . Love everything else)

    I can't think of another rock band of the modern era that has put out five albums in five years of such quality. Black Francis is my favourite lyricist aswell, weird, funny, and so inventive.

    They're not a very good band "technically" if you take them for their individual abilitles, but when the four of them play together, the whole is bigger than the sum of it's parts. And the songs kick ass. That helps too.

    I absolutely agree with you. I just realized this going through all of the songs I have of them. I either skip the song right away or have trouble turning it off.
