Former members of ALICE IN CHAINS are among the special guest performers scheduled to appear at the taping of a new episode of VH1 Classic's "Decades Rock Live!". The show that focuses on classic rockers HEART will be taped at the Trump Taj Mahal Resort & Casino in Atlantic City, NJ on February 17, 2006. A spring air date is expected. The HEART fan club pre-sale takes place on November 28 at 12 noon (Pacific Standard Time). Fan club members only can log into the fan club area at HEART's web site to reserve their tickets for the show. Tickets are limited to two tickets per fan club member. Minors must be accompanied by an adult into the theater, and during the taping. Tickets are $85.00 per ticket with a $2.50 fanclub handling fee.

The "Decades Rock Live!" series is a collection of tributes to artists who have shaped and influenced music over the past several decades, generally including artists the guest of honor picks as influences and more modern acts that have been influenced by the honoree.

Wow, that could be good depending on how it's done.

COMES WITH THE FALL vocalist/guitarist and member of Jerry Cantrell's (ALICE IN CHAINS) touring band William DuVall has been tapped to sing lead vocals with the reunited ALICE IN CHAINS at the taping of an episode of VH1 Classic's "Decades Rock Live!", a tribute to HEART that will take place March 10 at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City. "The show promises to be a lot of fun — an all-star miniature 'Last Waltz' scenario, with jamming between the two honorees and famous friends of both bands stepping in to lend a hand," stated DuVall. "I am honored to be a part of such an historic occassion." A spring air date for the program is to be announced shortly.

I don't have a problem with the surviving members of Alice In Chains playing a show, provided Jerry handles all the vocals. I do have a problem with bringing in someone else singing Layne's parts with Alice In Chains. If someone wants to cover an AIC song on their own, with their own band that's fine. I really don't even have a problem with this guy singing Layne's part at one of Jerry's solo shows. But I don't think anyone should take Layne's place in AIC, if even for one show.

  • ewww.. I hate Heart

On an AIC note, I heard "Degradation Trip" for the first time last week. Very sweet album, seems like the 2-disc version gets much more praise, so I may have to look for a copy of that.
So shines a good deed in a weary world.......
