What a song!

I felt for sure last night
That once we said goodbye
No one else will know these lonely dreams
No one else will know that part of me
I'm still driving away
And I'm sorry every day
I won't always love these selfish things
I won't always live...
Not stopping...

It was my turn to decide
I knew this was our time
No one else will have me like you do
No one else will have me, only you

You'll sit alone forever
If you wait for the right time
What are you hoping for?
I'm here I'm now I'm ready
Holding on tight
Don't give away the end
The one thing that stays mine

Amazing still it seems
I'll be 23
I won't always love what I'll never have
I won't always live in my regrets

You'll sit alone forever
If you wait for the right time
What are you hoping for?
I'm here I'm now I'm ready
Holding on tight
Don't give away the end
The one thing that stays mine

You'll sit alone forever
If you wait for the right time
What are you hoping for?
I'm here I'm now I'm ready
Holding on tight
Don't give away the end
The one thing that stays mine...

agreed. i think polaris, work, kill, & 23 are the highlights from an album that means a lot to me. but especially 23. beautiful track.
"Last time I think we played that song here was like, a long time ago, and there was a bonfire in the back and people were like throwing each other into it...very exciting days but a huge fucking relief that that's not how it is tonight..." Ed Irvine Night 1 2003, after Deep

the last 2 songs on that album are incredible. night drive is such a phenomenal song. but they still haven't topped the genius of 'goodbye sky harbor.' it's 16 minutes and i could listen to it for twice as long :)

Don't know much of their music beyond the hits but I saw them in one of the small tents at Reading and they were fucking great. I need to get some albums.
"I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"

it's the only song outro i can honestly say i have never gotten tired of and always love.
  • Wait, people take this band seriously?

I'm not making fun...I'm asking a serious question.

I remember them from "alternative" radio in the early 00's, and I always thought they were kind of lame back then. Are they good now? Different, at least?

edited, because when asking a serious "quetion", it's nice to use proper spelling and typing. :D
  • Great band. I love Bleed American.
  • I really enjoyed the self-titled CD and Futures... I concur with what's been said about 23.
If I could, think I would give in.
  • clarity is a fantastic album, probably in my top ten.

it doesnt get much better than 'for me this is heaven' and 'goodbye sky harbor'
makes much more sense to live in the present tense

    9/28/05 Pittsburgh
    6/23/06 Pittsburgh
    8/2/07 Vic
    8/5/07 Lolla
    6/16/08 Columbia
    8/17/08 DC (EV Solo)

very seriously. they are excellent. yeah, that album and the run of singles off it are pretty poppy, but the album before that is a masterpiece (clarity) and futures is one of the best rock albums i own.
  • clarity is my fav!!

though i haven't listened to much of them in awhile...i had an old store manager who would play the futures ccd all day, every day. i LOVE the cd...but trying to work while it's playing all the time became a challenge.
though i'm not one to really talk, because i like to throw in bleed american on the weekends sometimes! it becomes "personal classics" weekend at urban...love it.
yes...i do feel like a human. i do not feel like a tree.

hearing a cd at work can ruin ANYTHING!

Thanks for answering me and not just thinking I was trying to piss on the parade. :D

I will have to check them out.

I'll admit...while I was busy thinking they were kinda lame... I always thought the songs that I heard on the radio were extremely catchy, and in a good way. I was going through a pretentious phase at the time. :D

no problem. i think we've all gone through pretentious phases. i shut my ears to a lot of good music on that basis. that's why im listening to so much hip hop lately... lot of catching up to do!

but for sure, they have some great stuff. and you can probably find at least one of their cd's pretty cheap at any used shop. clarity, bleed american/st (which has most of the singles you're referring to), and futures are great. static prevails... not as much.

I completely agree!! All I've been listening to in my car this week is Futures... 23 is the fucking shit!
Whoa, chill bro... you know you can't raise your voice like that when the lion's here.
