Tons of songs out there, so I'll limit it to those released to radio/video, and limit each band to one song.

    In no particular order...

    1. Bloc Party - Banquet
    2. Sleater-Kinney - Entertain
    3. John Butler Trio - Zebra
    4. The Mars Volta - L'Via L'Viaquez
    5. System Of A Down - Question!
    6. Spoon - I Turn My Camera On
    7. Clutch - 10001110101
    8. Buck 65 - Kennedy Killed The Hat
    9. Bedouin Soundclash - When The Night Feels My Song
    10. The White Stripes - Blue Orchid

I'll vote "Jumpers" over "Entertain" in the Sleater-kinney civil war.
All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a thousand enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.

Is it just me or is the solo on this track one of the most ridiculous, incoherent solos ever? It's weird because Morello does some of the best soloing he's ever done on the rest of the record, but on this track he spoils a very hooky riff n' chorus combo.

  • D.O.A is the only song on the new foo fighters album that remotely stacks up with their earlier songs on s/T and colour and shape...

this band hopefully is at the bottom of their slide into mediocrity and will start climbing the hill back up, but unfortunately dave grohl is headed for an existance in the adult contempory music world... shame really...

best of you is absolutely horrrible, try some of the songs on my list...

    wowwww

i think One by One is their worst effort... and i've long held the "s/t is the best easily" position, but "in your honor" has taken that title.

it really is the best album of their career.

a lot of which is due to the way lots of the songs (like No Way Back) resemble their work on the self titled record.

i didnt give in your honour that much of a chance to tell you the truth, i think my tastes have changed a lot too...

just seems uninspired, grohl's lyrics seem real drab, universal,, you get no sense of his personality or convictions, it is tight musicianship, but still it all seems like 4/4 commercial rock, which we have in abundance and there are people who skew it a lot better than the foo fighters...

would prefer grohl to go drum again...

  • would prefer grohl to go drum again...

i hope ur not refering to nirvana.......

foo fighters are ten times better than nirvana.....make that 20...no 30....

i agree with the guy that said one by one is there worst effort. it still has some good songs...but deffinatly there worst.

i still love old stuff like the self titled cd but i think this is just foo fighters maturing. i love the new record...i dont think its worse or better than the old stuff. i think its just them maturing.

and no, i dont mean nirvana (kurt is dead!) i mean for QOTSA or another project, he is one hell of a drummer...

foo fighters are not, never will be better than nirvana, im not that bigger fan, but cmon...

yes he is one hell of a drummer. he influenced me greatly with qotsa. i agree with you there. but definatly disagree with the nirvana thing. nirvana to me was a mediocre band(if not worse). unplugged was allright...but nirvana wasnt great..not even good. and they dont even come close to holding a candle to foo fighters.

I have NEVER really been into the Foo Fighters, they just never captured me or did anything for me...but BEST OF YOU is one of the catchiest damn songs I have ever heard. It just gets lodged into my skull for weeks on end. I feel the hell outta that one! Actually, this entire new album has really blown me away. Pleasantly surprised to say the least.

No Way Back! Good call. I can definitely see that!
