Has anyone heard of Newton Faulkner? His debut album has just gone No 1 & Platinum in the UK, he's supported the John Butler Trio, Xavier Rudd, Donovan Frankenwriter, Paulo Nuttini, etc and Jimmy page is a big fan of his guitar work having invited him to play some of his private parties. He played my festival (http://www.myspace.com/lapagestock) a few years ago. Well you should check him out.

I saw him supporting John Mayer at The Royal Albert Hall ... very good live and great audience rapport ... never heard any of his stuff before.
So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?
  • Hmm, never heard of him. What's he play? He's not gonna be the next big pop sensation like John Mayer is he? If he is I won't waste my time.

I'd never heard any John Mayer before that night either :D ... but no they are nothing alike. I don't know if I would like Newton on record but he is a lot of fun live ...

He's an amazing guitar player, but for me his album gets a little boring after a while.

There's 17 songs on it which makes it feel like it drags on a bit to me. His 'teardrop' cover is good though.
