Anyone trying for Coldplay the night before MSG PJ?

OK, flame away. I like Coldplay, at least enough to go to a free show.

Now that you have that out of your system....


I'm trying for tickets to their free show at the Garden on 6/23. Figured I might as well since I'll be in NYC for PJ anyway. I'm figuring I'm not the only PJ fan giving it a shot.

Does anyone know when they will pick names and how winners will find out?

    You opened yourself up to the naysayers ;-)

    I put in for tickets. Not sure how they go about picking them, but I'm curious as to whether it is for one ticket..or for two. One I presume, but I haven't seen anyting about it. We'll see Thursday I guess.

    We signed up for the show, and I believe they are picking the winners soon, not sure of the exact date.

    I signed up and got my wife to sign up too. Coldplay puts on a good show atleast the one's I've been too. Plus, it'd be a nice warm up for Pearl Jam!

    The only song I like by em is Fix You, the song that was in that commercial for the 9/11 movie with Nicholas Cage. Really emotional song.

    Coldplay is to Radiohead what Creed is to Pearl Jam. Do yourself a favour and just save up for the next Gomez show, still can't believe they were snubbed for best new artist in order for Coldplay to become what they are today.

    Yeah, pretty sure June 5th was the draw date. I hope I get one, though they are my wife's second fave band and I'm going to NYC without her..so I might not be allowed to come back if I do get one. haha

    I put my name in for it. I'll only go because it's free. I would never pay to see them. They do have a few good songs.

    yeah, i like that song also...aside from PJ, i really like coldplay...they put on catchy tunes with nice lyrics...

    It should be interesting to see how they handle this. Will they just randomly assign pairs and mail them out? Or will it be some sort of massive will call or GA thing?

    I would think they would try to do something to keep tickets out of the hands of scalpers, but we'll see I guess.

    I thought about entering for tix...but I don't want to spoil walking into the garden for the first time in probably ten years or so

    I signed up for them too. I hope I get them but having my first show at MSG be Pearl Jam would be good too so I'm fine if I don't get them.

    Below are a list of questions you may have:

    1) Can I change the name on the tickets? No, you can't sorry. We're doing our best to make sure tickets are getting in the hands of the true fans. DON'T TRY TO SCALP THESE TICKETS! We'll catch you and take your tickets away from you. So please don't do it. You will get a letter with your tickets that explains the entire process so please be patient.

    2)How will my tickets be shipped to me? We will mail your tickets on or about June 10th. They will be mailed via UPS 2nd Day Air from Musictoday LLC from Crozet, VA

    3)Where are my seats located? You will find out when you get your tickets in the mail.

    4)Will I get some other sort of confirmation? Yes, you will receive an order AND shipping confirmation from tix@musictoday.com Please add that to your email safelist. Order confirmations will be generated on or around June 6th and shipping confirmations will be generated on or about June 10th.

    5) What if I can't go? respond to this email or give us a call at 800-594-TIXX.

    yes more and more announcements are going out

    and Ive heard it will be tickets which you exchange for wristbands and that you will need ID to get a wrist band

    but thats all rumor at the moment
