I'm not affiliated with these folks (just your average concert-goer,) but I thought I'd do a little PSA for R5 Productions, a local indie promoter who is responsible for putting on some great live shows. Here's the e-mail I got ...

Just a quick reminder for our super famous, semi-annual fundraising event this Saturday July 8th at The Starlight Ballroom! The proceeds from this year's flea market will be allocated to help pay our $10,000 insurance policy. This allows us to not have to add any additional ticket fees or charge the show go-ers more for shows (good idea right !?). Indie promoters and clubs are continuing to fall to the wayside as the big guys keep on getting bigger (House of Blues was just purchased by Live Nation / Clear Channel yesterday!) so we greatly appreciate your support in these events, which allow us to continue to provide cheap shows and events in alternative environments.

This year we have more tables than we ever have had before (with lots more personal items (flea market stuff) vs. crafted goods) plus lots of new surprises. Just click the link below to read the updated sellers list, which will continued to be updated every few hours till the Flea Market starts.

We also could use your help getting the word out and about for the event, as previous Flea Market's have been largely successful because of word of mouth. So if you could pass this on to any friends via e-mail, repost on myspace or any bulletin boards, or god forbid, actually talk to someone in real life - it would mean the world to us. We really need people to come out to this !
