Let's all take a moment to appreciate Lou Reed's Street Hassle, a masterpiece. I first heard the title track in THE SQUID AND THE WHALE. Amazing music. Crazy. Listen and enjoy.

now to enrich your experience, I recommend to get this book titled "All Yesterdays' Parties: The Velvets in Print 1966-1971", gorgeous reading that will give you a whole better scope of what the VU meant for rock music

Personallly I discovered The Velvets and Lou's work... I guess a couple of years before PJ was even formed... but hey, it doesn't matter when you discover it, the important thing is simply discovering it
