  • I haven't been to a lot of shows this year, hopefully 2006 will change!

    Joe Cocker
    Black Label Society
    Black Crowes
    Robert Plant
    Foo Fighters
We need Pearl Jam in Atlanta!!! 2006-2007

The dirty south needs a fix.
  • Black Label Society in March at the Pop's in Sauget IL

Tom Petty/Black Crowes-UMB Band Pavilion, Maryland Heights, MO. My least favorite show of the year. The Crowes opened and rocked, but as soon as they took the stage, the Heartbreakers along with Petty sucked supreme ass.

Velvet Revolver-favorite show of the year. Right up front in front of Slash. Got some points and nods from him.

Les Claypool- a little disappointed, the openers showed him up. He is a jam band legend. What happened when I seen him was the equivalent of the Billy Squier blowin Zeppelin off the stage.

'06 is already lining up to be a better year. David Gilmour in April. Plan on catchin PJ and Tool a few times a piece, and hopefully I can find a few people to go check out Radiohead with me. They are not real big where I live. Also, would like to see Coldplay. I finally picked up X&Y, and I love it. Plus, I have heard they kill in concert.
  • Chevelle
    Ben Kweller
    Collective Soul
Shooter Jennings (an amazing country musician)
    One Less Reason

and a lot of locals from Memphis
  • I think I only saw 2 PJ shows and U2 once this year.
No longer overwhelmed it seems so simple now.

Not too many for me, shows are getting more expensive and there seems to be less and less music out there I want to see.

    *Paul Westerberg (March, I believe)
*The New Pornographers (October, best show of the year)
    *Sleater-Kinney (October)
    *Nine Inch Nails (October)
    *U2 (December)

Edit : I would've seen Gwen Stefani w/M.I.A. but she didn't come to MO. Same with Liz Phair. I would've seen Coldplay, but the good seats were $75. NO THANKS.

Hot Hot Heat @ Axis (03/07/05) - this show was crap, just like their 2nd album.

Interpol w. Q and Not U @ Orpheum Theater (03/09/05) - I went more for Q and Not U (and they were awesome). Interpol was practically note perfect, but just stood their the whole time like they were being forced to play which just drove me nuts.

Queens of the Stone Age @ Roxy (03/28/05) - My favorite show of the year.

Bloc Party @ Paradise (04/05/05) - Great show in a small club. Thankfully I saw them here than at the larger club when they came back 6 months later.

…And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead w. Octopus Project @ Axis (04/12/05) - Trail of Dead with double drummers. What more could you ask for? Octopus Project puts on an awesome show too, well worth checking out.

Decemberists @ Avalon (05/25/05) - 2nd least favorite show. My brother really likes them so I was nice and went with him. Just not my thing.

Sleater-Kinney @ Avalon (06/22/05) - 3nd best show of the year just for the amazing version of 'Let's Call it Love'

Coldplay w. Black Mountain @ Tweeter Center (08/05/05) - Good show, Coldplay just hasn't made that "arena" leap, it was like they were trying too hard. Black Mountain was awesome. It was great to see a 70s Sabbath style heavy band open for Coldplay and have all the soccer moms wondering what the hell is going on.

Doves @ Avalon (09/12/05) - Ok show, the first time I saw them in a small club was much better.

Built To Spill @ Avalon (10/03/05) - Went on way too f'ing late for a Monday night, but was well worth it...now where is the new album?

My Morning Jacket @ Avalon (10/15/05) - 2nd best show of the year. The huge sing-a-long with 'One Big Holiday' was great. Too bad they didn't play 'At Dawn' although they did play 'Just One Thing' which made my night.

Spoon @ Avalon (11/03/05) - Wish I saw them at a smaller club when they came around earlier in the year, had tickets, couldn't go. They were really good. They must have played abour 22-23 songs.

Nine Inch Nails w. Queens of the Stone Age & Death From Above 1979 @ TD Banknorth Garden (11/08/05) - Note to self, bring earplugs to next NIN show. QOTSA was good, just not an arena band. DFA1979 were awesome. They sounded better than QOTSA.

Black Keys @ Avalon (11/16/05) - Another show with my brother, this one was much better than the Decemberists show.

REM and Interpol (while i was living in Germany, great shows both of them).

Then, Audislave, Nine Inch Nails (with the Dresden Dolls as opening act...if it wasn't for Pearl Jam that would have been the best show of the year).

    Garbage!! Keane.

And of course Pearl Jam with Mudhoney...simply the best for the last.
I feel very close to you all now; so close I could almost... loan you money. Really. it goes that deep.
