The solo one, 12 Bar Blues, came out in '98?

I'm gonna order it from amazon.

Is it any good?

And also does anyone have the side project STP minus Scott did in '97, Talk Show? How is that?

Thanks for any responses.

have scott's solo album. I didn't like it. Not nearly the same as the STP album. not worth it in my opinion.

  • It's... okay. Barbarella's great, and there's few other good ones, but nothing particularly special.

12 Bar Blues has been much discussed here in the past, the general consensus has been that it's good, if your a big STP fan then you need to hear it anyhow. Quite a departure though, got a crazy industrial sound on some songs and to me it seems rushed but not altogether terrible.

  • Nah, I wanted to like it, being a big STP fan at the time. But it just really isn't that good. There was one song I liked, can't remember the name, but thats it.

Oh btw, I do have it. Its been years and years since I played it, I may pull it out to see if it still sucks.

you'll need to give 12 bar blues a few listens but it does grow, i don't mind it. talk show just sounds soul-less

There was one song I really liked too, the rest of it if I remember correctly was listenable...but nothing spectacular. I just dug through my CD's cuz it was bugging me what song it was that I liked & to my surprise it was actually in the case. Just put it on..."Where's the Man" is the one I like.
"Oh, a flower you are to my land..."
  • Um, ok, I remembered wrong...this CD is pretty damn terrible. lol.

Get the album. 12 bar blues has some amazing songs. Very good vocals by Scott on this one. But his voice is always top notch. Best live performer going today. Vr kicked ass. Stp is back kicking ass again.

I agree especially about "Barbarella", did anyone catch the VH1 special where he dueted that one with Cyndi Lauper,... pretty cool
