Good love songs?

I want some good love songs to make a mix cd, stuff that is powerful but not overly sappy.
The wind is blowing cold
Have we lost our way tonight?
Have we lost our hope to sorrow?

Feels like were all alone
Running further from what’s right
And there are no more heroes to follow

So what are we becoming?
Where did we go wrong?

chloe dancer/crown of thorns by mother love bone is about as powerful as it gets in my humble opinion

  • Beck can give you a couple different vibes: Debra or, alternately, The Golden Age (anything on that album if you're looking for the the more melancholy sort of love song that gets me more than the sap). One of my friends is convinced that Girl by Beck is a love song, as an aside. Just goes to show that lyrics are pretty easily misunderstood. And I have to second whoever mentioned Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns.
