I just got back from the show here in St Paul, the lineup was Tenacious D, Ben Harper and the Beasties. Good show, each act wasn't on for very long, the Beasties played a little over an hour maybe. The D were awesome, never seen them before and didn't really know many of their songs but still was realyl impressed with them. Up next was Ben who was ok, not a huge fan, the highlight of the set and maybe the night was the D came out and did Queen's Under Pressure with Ben, that was fabulous. Beasties closed, this was my third time seeing them, I knew beforehand they'd only do about an hour and all the hits. The main set was with Mix Master Mike and for the 3 song encore they were on instruments. All the bands kept the political talk to a minimum, Mike D mention he voted absentee for Obama but that was about it for actual candidates, they mainly just reminded everyone to vote and said how in MN we can register the day of voting.

The Youngstown show was pretty good. Didn't care much for Norah or Sheryl, but the show really started to get interesting when Perry Farrell came out with a surprise performance. Didn't realize he was doing techno now.

Ben Harper started his set with a cover of Under Pressure. When he and the band started playing my friend said "he better be playing a Queen song." I also learned during his set that my unborn child has good taste, my wife first felt him/her move while Ben was playing.

The Beastie Boys performed a solid set. Did plenty of songs from an array of albums, including one of my favorites, 3 MCs and 1 DJ. Ben Stiller popped up onstage, dressed in the same outfit as Adrock during Root Down.

He also came out for the scream during Sabotage (played with instruments left on stage from the earlier bands). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aaqOTeKit0Q

My friend also had a dilemma that hasn't occurred since our first PJ show in 1996. When we looked for our seats for the show we found that one wasn't there! We had row B in the first section beside the stage, seats 15-17 (for him, my wife and me), but the seats only went up to 16. Security called someone down to help out and we were told they had to eliminate some seats to have room for the stage. We were given two options: go to the floor (which would not work for my pregnant wife) or move over one section and a few rows up. We took the latter of the two and had a better vantage point for the show than we would have had from where our original seats should have been.

Awesome review of the show. :)

I'm really excited seeing the Beastie Boys and Ben Harper the most. Also who knows who might show up. :)
