How many different bands/ artists do you own?

I've seen the album count on here but never have really seen a band/artist count done before.

so i'm wondering how many different artist's or bands do you own.

for example if you own all the Pearl Jam albums and 3456 bootlegs of theirs...thats only counts as 1.

I ended up with 381.

    have only got 167. i kno u 2 have ashlee simpsons and good charlottes thats why its over 300.

    i'd hazzard a guess at about the 300 mark

    I own probably 600 albums. 200 or so of the collection taken up by bands that I have a fairly extensive collection of. The rest are made up of artists that I own 1-3 albums of. A couple full catalog boxed sets. I would say around 300 different artists if you separate everything into side projects.

    263 exactly according to Itunes, that incudes bands on compilation cds though. Pretty good considering I've only been collecting cds for about 2 years.
    Only fools have signatures...

    Itunes tells me 444. But of course that includes comps and what not. Just going by a count of the different band folders in my Itunes directory, its 134.

    if I've counted correctly (which may be questionable :p )
    50 different artists or bands..
    I honestly thought there'd be more..

    but I'm still young! :D

    i cannot possibly count .. approx 1K artists.. many on vinyl.. but i've got so much crap.. i should go ebay with some of this stuff :D

    Has another technology bandwagon sped off into the distance, leaving me standing confused in its dust? I only have a vague idea what itunes is.

    I use winamp. It tells me that I have a total of 234 artists in my media library, but that's only the stuff on this hard disk. I'd guess the real total is about 300ish.

    Nope, none of that stuff, although maybe I should get it... (not quite).

    Just lots of classic rock and jazz, and prog rock... Nothing to poppy, and essentially no r and b or rap.
