Bleh.

I miss STP.
I wish I was the 10Club holiday single, the one that never showed up...

    You've spoken to a man's heart (mine).

However, I had the chance to see AoA in concert, at the Bowery Ballroom in NYC, and they actually kicked ass. Obviously the highlights were the STP songs (which RP pulled off pretty well) and two awesome instrumental jams lead by Dean and Rob, which were both fucking sick.

    VR sucks though.

 You can't really think that?!? I do miss STP, but VR are, IMHO, one of the best bands in the past few years.

I really think that. I can't stand VR at all. I've never been a fan of Slash (I don't like GnR), and I don't think there is anything special about the music. I also don't love Scott's vocals on many of their tracks. And if its possible, I think Scott has fallen farther off the deep end than when he was with STP, even if he is clean now.

No, I have no love for VR. I tried when Contraband came out, but it did nothing for me. I definitely like AoA much more than VR.

i enjoy velvet revolver..used to like them a lot more

AoA is alright, but I cant help imagining how much better those songs would be with Scott singing them instead

    yeah..i miss STP too
I've faced it, a life wasted, and I'm never going back again.

AOA > VR by a lot in my opinion...

Velvet Revolver is pretty good. They're not anywhere near the top of my list, but Contraband was a solid rock album.

Army of Anyone is the definition of "bleh" in my view. They have two, maybe three songs that I really like. Musically the DeLeos are a lot better than what their awful lead singer brings to the table. STP was miles and miles ahead of AoA...

I saw AoA last time they were in california, at the show in Anaheim.

    I think they played:

    3 Filter songs
    4 AoA songs
    12 STP songs....

.. that kinda well... that wraps it up.

Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.

The Deleos are strong as ever, the drummer is overexcited (too flashy), and RP leaves much to be desired.

I'd rate the album a strong B. But I'm biased with love for the Deleos.

I've seen both bands live, AoA is great, and made an awesome album. VR is boring and tired - I am hoping the new album sounds like VR instead of Scott with GnR, but my hopes aren't too high.
