I must agree. I really enjoy everything I've heard by these guys. http://forums.pearljam.com/showthread.php?t=177339&highlight=black+keys
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.

Really awesome music. Recently got a chance to listen to "Chulahoma The Songs Of Junior Kimbrough". Solid album but nothing that stands out too much.

Love the Keys, but you gotta check out Junior's albums...once you hear Junior, you'll think much less of other blues "legends."

The first half is awesome. Not all that keen on the collaboration songs.

Yeah I can see that. I feel that the BK are actually taking a back seat in them. Almost like they are guest appearances on their own songs. I still like them though.

Why do they keep playing arenas they can’t sell out even halfway easily?

I like the new album, but I don’t think I have the desire to see them in an arena setting again.

Yeah, I saw them on their last arena tour and was pretty bored. Same show every night and they looked like they were going through the motions.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.
  • I’ve struggled with completely liking anything after Brothers. The covers album they did was fucking stellar though!

Agreed! Although El Camino isn’t bad.

I think Delta Kream is really good.
I wish I was a sacrifice, but somehow still lived on.

I do like that one too, just not as much as the ones before it. Rubber Factory will always be my favorite record of theirs. I love the 'recorded in my basement' vibes.

Looks like shows are being cancelled left and right for poor sales.

Yikes. Just read some articles about it. Makes me wonder if it’s beyond just the sales bit. Hope they are okay. That’s a lot of dates to up and cancel. I was surprised they were doing arenas after I saw them at a midsize amphitheater.

Definitely hoping for good health.  appears to be an overestimation of the market.  It's a tough pill to swallow when a band realizes they are now a "theater" band instead of an "arena" band.  Seen it happen to countless acts.

Amphitheatre I saw them at has a 12,000 person capacity. It was not sold out but had to be 9-10 K in attendance. Should have just booked that again.

isnt that when you go out on double/tripple bill tours.

    Like KISS with Aerosmith etc

Yep.  Coming to a theater near you…

Is this like in The Black Crowes book when they had to play smaller places, but wanted to PR it as playing smaller intimate places for the fans.

I wish they would go back to being a duo like they started. If they played some small theaters and played stuff from Rubber Factory and Thickfreakness I would gladly pay whatever it cost to see that.
