I just got depressed when I realized I've only been to 5 shows since April 2006 when I posted in this thread on page 1. One was Daughtry and one was David Allan Coe...Thank God the other 3 were the White Stripes, Foo Fighters and Smashing Pumpkins or I might have to shoot myself.
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.

First show I ever went to was The Rolling Stones in 1981, the last show I saw was Van Halen a few weeks ago, I've seen the Grateful Dead 169 times, Phish about 20 and Pearl Jam is listed below, I went to the Rush Signals Tour (1983) with my English teacher in Jr. High and have seen every tour since Moving Pictures (1981) except one.

I have been to about 300-400 shows in my life, including all the opening bands and couldn't even start to list them all as it would show my age, anyone could ask me if I saw any rock band worth a crap in the 80's and 90's and the answer would more than likely be yes. I won tickets on the radio in 1982 to see Scorpions/Iron Maiden/Girlschool and the saw Genesis the next night, the next shows I plane on attending are Willie Nelson on 3/4/08 and George Jones on 3/9/08 at the Austin Rodeo, 3/10/08 My Morning Jacket in Houston, 3/14/08 John Fogerty in Houston, Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band in April in Dallas.

I am and always have been a music and concert JUNKIE!!!!! I love living in Austin, South by Southwest is in March and ACL fest is in September.

I have been to over 90 concers and seen over 250 bands. I will just give you 2 or 3 highlights.

    Pearl Jam 9 times.
    Alice In Chains in 93
Rage Against the Machine 3 times and first band I ever saw live
    Stone Temple Pilots 2 times
Metallica when they still had long hair
Korn on the Life is Peachy Tour
Marilyn Manson on the Smells Like Children tour
    Prince

I have seen greats like Clapton, Waters, the Stones, Neil Young etc., but there was a few. I have really seen almost everyone you can think of from the 90's. I only mentioned Korn and Manson because they were still pretty much unheard of at the time I first saw them. When I saw Korn back then, an unknown, albumless Limp Bizkut opened for them.

  • OK, going to try to do this in chronogical order (and I'm going back a long time - 1981 when I was 13 and my mom bought me tix to see the Stones -- luv ya ma!). I'll try to note the number of times I've seen a band in paranthesis and list them only in the decade I saw them first so I don't repeat them (I'd go crazy listing each time I saw the Dead, PJ, etc.). Here goes:

    The 80's
George Thorogood & The Delaware Destroyers
    Journey
    The Rolling Stones
    REM

    Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman, Howell

    Sting
    The Kinks
    Little Feat

    The 90's

    The Ohio Players
George Clinton and Parliament (6 times)
