Creed is getting back together....

Due to the low album sales of both Stapp Solo works, and Alterbridge, both sides plan to reform later this year after they tie up some loose ends in their current contracts....and plan to start recording a new album in September, which is slated for a spring 2007 release.

    This wasn't even a good April Fools Joke.

    Alter Bridge's debut sold 500,000+ copies. Not bad at all for a debut. It's actually a damn good cd, Myles Kennedy is phenomenal.

    Going gold is OK. Im guessing expectations were higher for this record though. By comparison, both Audioslave and Velvet Revolver's debut record both went platnum...

    Comparing Alter Bridge with Audioslave and Velvet Revolver is quite a stretch. First off, Creed had 3 studio albums (hugely popular but still only 3) STP made 5, GNR made 5, Rage made 4, and and SG made 5 studio albums. So, together, Velvet Revolver has 10 studio albums under their belts before joining forces and Audioslave has 9. To compare 2 supergroups with 3 guys from Creed and the lead singer of the Mayfield Four (who? exactly) is not a fair comparison. Sure, Creed were hugely popular, but so were the other four bands. Alter Bridge cannot compare to either Velvet Revolver or Audioslave in any way, in my opinion.

    I actually prefer Alter Bridge to Creed. Considering they are almost finished with their 2nd album, the Creed reunion would be somewhat difficult, u think?

    Going gold in this day and age is very respectable. Audioslave & Velvet Revolver also had quadruple the promotion Alter Bridge recieved. NO, I'm not a Creed fan but, I'd pick Alter Bridge over Audioslave and definitley over Velvet Revolver.
