'We're learning songs for baby Jesus' birthday. His mum and dad were Merry and Joseph. He had a bed made of clay and the three kings bought him Gold, Frankenstein and Merv as presents.'
I would consider three years pretty new. Maybe not in the current musical climate, but hey, I'm a fan of music with a bit of longevity, none of this in one month, out the next crap.

Cold War Kids !
I saw them last week, they were awesome !
2006: Antwerp, Paris
2007: Copenhagen, Werchter
2009: Rotterdam, London
2010: MSG, Arras, Werchter
2012: Amsterdam, Prague, Berlin
2014: Amsterdam, Stockholm
They have given people like me hope. They are the face of rock and roll. Funeral and Neon Bible are fantastic.
And from what I heard their live shows are life changing events and similar to church tent revivals. They are soul shaking.
I can feel it. They arent just a popular band or the cool band or the it band. This is a movement. I can feel it. I felt this when grunge was in full swing and I wanted to move to seattle. I want to move to Montreal now.
And how cool is it that they seem to have this special relationship with their fans during concerts.
Arcade fire are the future of rock and roll, and are the leaders of the canadian explosion of rock currently in full force.
what a cool band
people on this board, myself included complain that we want the early 90's back, and grunge back. While I too wish Kurt was still alive, and Layne was still alive and Pearl Jam was big again, and Soundgarden was back together, this is the closest we have come to a new grunge era.
Seattle isnt the rock mecca anymore. Although it will always hold a place in my heart. Montreal is. And the big 4 arent Nirvana, Pearl jam, Alice and Soundgarden, the big 4 now are arcade fire, broken social scene, the new pornographers, and wolf parade
we certainly could do worse. We could have some jerks for saviors of rock. Arcade fire are the real deal. I can feel it, this is a movement, and I feel priviledged to be alive

Arcade Fire has been a known band for more then 3 years, they are not new.
04? no. but i saw them live in 05, so 2006 was not the first year they "got out there". their album was highly anticipated, why do you think that was? because they have a cool name? not

You know pal you are a joke. You come in this thread and start with me for no reason. You are not even the one who post Arcade Fire, harmless_little_f*** is and you don't see him acting like a baby.
and if you did see them in 05 you are lucky, but I doubt it.

I know Arcade Fire are giving some people something great but personally I find them as exciting as Cold Play on the other hand Cold War Kids personally for me are the business, having caught them live very recently I can say with all honesty that these guys are the best new band for ages.
Robbers & Cowards just gets better and Better and Nathan Willetts is such a nice guy.
I'm going to name this band even though they've been defucnt for about two years now, since 2004/ 2005. JUNO. This band redifines independent rock music. Most unsuprisingly, they come from Seattle.
They have a mix of incrediblly incricate 3 guitar melodies, along with intense drum patterns, and incredible bass playing.
If this band had signed to a major label not only would they be the biggest band in America, but they would have started a revolution.

To me they sound like Smashing Pumpkins crossed with Remy Zero with some QOTSA thrown in for good measure, their album is superb.

hey thanks,,,,never heard them before I don't think...they sound good
And I won't make the same mistakes

Because I know how much time that wastes
(And function)
Function is the key
