    I like how Bruce changed / rewrote the lyrics from the more familiar version of this song we all know of done by The Band

    Great fucking performance!! Bruce is truly a real talent. I am thankful that I found my way to his music. I was turned on to his music from The Rising. Ever since then I have bought all his albums and am a big fan. I'm glad there is a Bruce + Pearl Jam connection.

    Bruce makes a speech and discusses the history of this song.It was written by ( it was really inaudible for sure on this clip )but i believe he says Bryan Alfred Reed at it was written at the beginning of The Great Depression Era. He then goes on to blast Bush .     it just has that sort of feel to it ( The Band ) - but you are correct catefrances- i do not see it listed as " The Band " having performed this song. But Bruce has taken the song, and added lyrics to it, and rewritten segments of the chorus- as a tribute to the people of New Orleans .

    this is a very good resource, especially since alot of the songs that are being performed on this current Seeger Sessions Tour, are older then the hills. :D

    HAHA :) Yah it is taking forever! But it'll be worth it....and I was just checking out that AOL stuff in the other thread..funny :)
