Hey..if you see anywhere that has this performance posted... can you plz post the link, thanks:)
Bruce makes a speech and discusses the history of this song.It was written by ( it was really inaudible for sure on this clip )but i believe he says Bryan Alfred Reed at it was written at the beginning of The Great Depression Era. He then goes on to blast Bush . Nothing new there,.....http://us.video.aol.com/cpf.adp?pmmsid=1657244&dcurl=http%3A//twx.doubleclick.net/adj/tw.aol.us.vac/mus_music_videos%3Bvid%3D27454248%3Bsz%3D300x60%3Bord%3D2681941%3F
it just has that sort of feel to it ( The Band ) - but you are correct catefrances- i do not see it listed as " The Band " having performed this song. But Bruce has taken the song, and added lyrics to it, and rewritten segments of the chorus- as a tribute to the people of New Orleans .
This is a list of who has covered this song, apparently its very very old !

this is a very good resource, especially since alot of the songs that are being performed on this current Seeger Sessions Tour, are older then the hills.
