Hello,
I dont remember Lifehouse ever opening up for Pearl Jam, but I have heard that they did, and the attached link confirms this. The article states that they apparently opened up for them on the 2000 tour. Can anyone recall/prove this? Cuz I don't remember.

Thanks

i remember at jones beach in 2000 there were people going around the lots handing out lifehouse cd singles saying they were from "the opening band." i thought that unless sonic youth had changed their name, these people were full of shit.

    did they actually play?
i'm more a fan of popular bands.. like the bee-gees, pearl jam

i was at nights 1 and 2. i didn't go in for the opening band either night, but i'm 99% sure lifehouse opened for them the first night.

so technically, they didn't open on the same stage that pearl jam played on. but they were there, and they did play.

has nothing to do with grammar, and all to do with the fact that "opens" implies present tense :)

  • if I remember correctly, I read that there were side-stages set up on the 2000 tour, that's where Lifehouse played. I liked their first album, and was pissed that I never saw them since I went to 9 shows on that tour.

OK, but Pearl Jam did not select them to be their opener. Just to clarify.

well, not on the main stage at least. i'm sure they had a say in whether or not they set up and played in the food vendor area.

Yeah, the same at Shoreline that year.
  • Yes, they played in Houston 2000 (def night one, I don't remember if they were there night two?).

There was a small stage set up near the entrance so you walked by them on the way in... at least we did. Nothing distinct about the music, though I do remember thinking they looked really young.

I think they opened for PJ in Toronto in 2000. The reason I'm adding here now is I just caught a glimpse of them on TV.

    Edit:
And now I found another site that says it was Supergrass. I honestly can't remember.

i was at the montreal show the night before toronto and only super grass opened. in 1998 they were a hell of a lot of opening bands but i don't remember lifehouse ever being one of them.

This could be possible. I remember in 98 up in Barrie we were there all day and the main stage opened at about 6pm. All day prior to that though was a side stage up on the flats that a few bands played on. Cracker and Hayden are the two I remember...mostly because they don't suck. I remember there bing a band from LA playing first. I can't remember their name but it was something stupid like "The Special Guests."

I saw them on the side stage at the Columbus show. I didn't know who they were and they defintley left no impression on me, but I saw them on TV or a picture of them a couple years later and recognized them.

they played side stages not the main stage during the binural tour whenever they would play amphitheaters. Pearl Jam would never pick a band that shitty to open

    Exactly this.

I thought Bad Religion and Sonic Youth was some of the worst music I've ever heard but at least they have some credibility to redeem those choices. Most of the rest I've seen were pretty inoffensive(Idlewild, Buzzcocks, Ted Leo) to solid opening bands(Band of Horses, Sparta)

I think a band called Palo Alto played the side stage at Indy.
