It's kind of like Kennedy's death day. I'll never forget where I was and what I was doing. Also, Kurts. Very sad days.
"I'd rather be with an animal." "Those that can be trusted can change their mind." "The in between is mine." "If I don't lose control, explore and not explode, a preternatural other plane with the power to maintain." "Yeh this is living." "Life is what you make it."

I really got into Lennon this past year, he made some of the best music.
Burns: Smithers, are they booing me?

    Smithers: Uh, no, they're saying "Boo-urns! Boo-urns!"

    i heard it was monday....
I've faced it, a life wasted, and I'm never going back again.

    Some die just to live.

I got word at seven in the morning here. I was only eight years old. Let's see, so it happened at 3:50am on Tuesday 9th December 1980, my time. I still think about that day a lot.

Its sad to think of all the great music that he would have created over the past 25 years. And all the great comments he would have made, and causes he would have fought for...

A day imprinted on the souls of us all, NEVER to be forgotten... just like the legend himself. :(

Talk about a person that seriously made the world a better place.

I will have all the Lennon greatness in high rotation tomorrow and definitely plan on replying to all related threads to show my complete love & respect for one of THE greatest musicians/people to have ever graced the earth. Taken from us!:( It's beyond tragic and beyond a loss. He left behind much to be remembered by...much to live by.

i was only 6... but i remember my dad being shocked... very quiet...

i'm listening to Plastic Ono Band album as I type.

what's the deal with fucking mentalists shooting people they dont even know for reasons that are dubious to say the least... fucking fat freakshow of a blob that Chapman is.... i live for the day I can write about that cunt in the past tense..... maybe i should start that anyway :(
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

one of my fave songs of all time, by anybody. RIP john, miss you.

    There are places I remember
All my life though some have changed
    Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all

But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more

Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more

In my life I love you more

Never has their been such simple lyrics that have such heart felt emotion as this song, this has hit me hard since I was a teenager:

Mother, you had me but I never had you,
I wanted you but you didn't want me,
So I got to tell you,
    Goodbye, goodbye.
Farther, you left me but I never left you,
I needed you but you didn't need me,
So I got to tell you,
    Goodbye, goodbye.
Children, don't do what I have done,
I couldn't walk and I tried to run,
So I got to tell you,
    Goodbye, goodbye.
    Mama don't go,
    Daddy come home.
    Mama don't go,
    Daddy come home.
    Mama don't go,
    Daddy come home.
    Mama don't go,
    Daddy come home.
    Mama don't go,
    Daddy come home.
    Mama don't go,
    Daddy come home.
    Mama don't go,
    Daddy come home...

Aw chiqui, beautiul picture indeed. When Nadia and I went to the MSG shows back in '03 we visited Strawberry Fields and this gorgeous tribute. It was an emotional experience no doubt. You should definitely visit next time you're out there. Excellent call with In My Life as well. :o One of the greatest songs by anyone...agreed.

    (((RIP JOHN!))) :(
Miss you so much. Your magic will never die.

    ::Instant Karma::

    Instant karma’s gonna get you
Gonna knock you right on the head
    You better get yourself together
Pretty soon you’re gonna be dead
What in the world you thinking of
Laughing in the face of love
What on earth you tryin’ to do
It’s up to you, yeah you

    Instant karma’s gonna get you
Gonna look you right in the face
    Better get yourself together darlin’
    Join the human race
How in the world you gonna see
    Laughin’ at fools like me
Who in the hell d’you think you are
    A super star
    Well, right you are

    Well we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun
    Well we all shine on
    Ev’ryone come on

    Instant karma’s gonna get you
Gonna knock you off your feet
    Better recognize your brothers
    Ev’ryone you meet
Why in the world are we here
Surely not to live in pain and fear
Why on earth are you there
    When you’re ev’rywhere
    Come and get your share

    Well we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun
    Yeah we all shine on
Come on and on and on on on
Yeah yeah, alright, uh huh, ah

    Well we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun
    Yeah we all shine on
On and on and on on and on

    Well we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun
    Well we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun
    Well we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun
    Yeah we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun

that's so cool you got to see that lydia! i definitely wanna check that out when i go next year.

and instant karma...what a great tune! i've been listening to beatles stuff all day...thank goodness we have the music left behind, it's incredible how it speaks to so many. there's no generation gaps when it comes to genius.

i wonder what lennon would be like if he was alive today, what would he say about the current state of the world. we need people like him to speak up and speak out.

    :( RIP john.
