My friend was going to see Eddie last night. Since he was in Vegas, I gave him 5 Grand to gamble with. I told him I wanted it all to go on Black. Bastard! PhillyCrownOfThorns-11-2-12

like most people on this board, i think i'd be better off using it as trade bait - thanks for the honorable suggestion though

Regardless of how "new" you are to the whole thing. Just make sure that you ask questions. If you set up a trade with someone or buy something. Ask around and see if anyone here knows he/she so you know who you are working with. Most of the poster folks know each other and can let you kow if there is anythng to worry about. questions...questions...questions...You can never ask too many. KNOW what you are doing before you do it....imho :)

I don't remember actually any form of the word "Socialist." There is a difference between a Socialist and a Marxist. Just like there is a difference between a Democracy and a Republic.

heres an excerpt from the Wikipedia defenition of "socialism"

"Karl Marx, who helped establish and define the modern socialist movement, wrote that socialism would be achieved through class struggle and a proletarian revolution. Marxism has had a lasting influence on most branches of socialism."

When you refered to some of our more progressive minds as "Neomarx" I thought you were refering to Karl Marx, one of the pioneers of socialism. A term most pinhead conservative types mean as an insult and probably not meaning philosopher, humanitarian, or scholar.

you should do some research before you start pulling terms out of the air or quoting from fox news.

I'll cut you some slack and ask you....

what is the definition of "neomarx"?

fine, google "Karl Marx socialism" and pick one of the three dozen articles on the subject. I just picked the first one with the simplest explanation.

since you have no actual comment on the discussion at hand I assume we have no further dispute.

And obviously you don't understand that there is a difference between marxism and socialism.... maybe wikipedia can help you out there too?

While you are at it, you could look up how fascism has it's roots in the political left. Many fascists started out as socialist... like Mussolini. I also recomend "Liberal Fascism" by Jonah Goldberg.

Sorry I don't really check back here every day. I assume that by now you have figured this all out?

I applaud your quest for knowledge, and urge you to do some more research on Obama before you pledge your vote to him. Take a look at his experience, 143 days in the senate, all spent running for president. Realize that he is a media created hype. Take a look at his ultra liberal voting record. Take a look at his friends, Bill Ayers, Rev. Wright, Father Flager, Tony Resco, etc. Listen to his wife's anti-American comments. And since most people berate Bush for not being a great speaker, find some clips of Obama without a teleprompter and hear him stammer worse than Bush.

I don't necessarily like McCain, he was the last choice of conservatives. But just because he has an R next to his name, liberals want him defeated. I've always considered John McCain a democrat. So it is win-win for the liberals this time around. But your choice is between someone with no experience, questionable associations, and an ultra liberal voting record.... or an American hero who has served his country, has plenty of experience and a better running mate, and is much closer to the political center.

Obama & McCain are BOTH TRASH!! our whole political system has been hi-jacked a long time ago.you don't have any REAL choice, vote for scumbag A or scumbag B.that pretty much sums up the voting process in this country!

democrat, republican, liberal, conservative these are all meaningless labels meant to divide us (divide and conquer) at the end of the day it's the same policy/agenda/bullshit going down.these silver spoon professional politicians have sold the American people down the river and have done all they can to destroy our sovereignty and usher in global government (see UN,CFR) killing the bill of rights and defying all that is our constitution.

then every four years the idiots come out in flocks and participate in a mock election thinking they really have a say (the president has already been chosen and fraudulent electronic voting machines will handle the rest)) or that their candidate is going to change the direction we are headed in (denial).

well, it was a pretty obscure reference. you mentioned "neomarx". I assumed you meant Karl Marx. I googled him and came up with a lot of things, father of socialism, communist, philosopher, author, champion of the worker etc. I didn't really know what you were specifically referring to. Since my first guess was wrong, I figured I'd just ask. I don't really watch neocon media outlets, so if I am behind the curve on this one I sincerely apologize.

not to mention being a constitutional scholar and a champion of the working class. God forbid we might have a smart guy with good decision making ability. By neocon standards, If Juno's mom is actually qualified then George W. is 3 times more qualified. As we all know, that didn't work out all that well.
