Where Does The Who Get Off...

Charging $202.00 for a freakn ticket! Face Value?!?!?!
One of my all time favorite bands but there is only 2 of them left! The ticket should be half price if you ask me.
Even after complaining I will probably still go, but with a sore arse.

Ain't gonna be any middle anymore.
For S's&G's, I went on Ticketmaster (WAY after they went on sale because I forgot) to see if I could get a tick and almost shit myself when I saw the price.
I had to double check to make sure I was on the right website.
In Dallas my ticket total was like $110 and in Oklahoma City we ended up getting first level lower balcony for $60 (so that was a steal.)
I guess some cities are more marketable than others. I know in Texas ticket prices in Dallas are always higher when bands play there. I figure Boston is a marketable area too where lots of people can travel or will travel for shows if they live close by. The who is great live even still, but for a price like that, I may be staying home this time. Chances are the set will be the same one that is on both my dvds of the shows I have from Dallas and OKC.
EV Solo: 7/11/11 11/12/12 11/13/12
Still pricey but not that out of line with bands of there age and caliber.

Have you thanked a taper today?
$46.50 for nosebleeds isn't too bad. That is, without all of ticketbastard's bullshit fees.
What do the rolling stones charge? I bet they charge even more, and they aren't even anything special compared to the who.

They are the Who and they aren't. In heart, soul, attitude, and spirit they are the Who. Pete and Roger were the bands leaders and their creative center. They biggest difference now is that their sound is more traditional, because hey, Moon and Entwistle were unique and losing them changes that dynamic.
Same, same soul, same brain, same creative direction, new body. To call themselves something else would be pretentious. 9 = 8.
Whatever.
The man thinks he is the God of music, when in reality, he is just an egomaniac. He is not a respectable person at all. Just because Pearl Jam endorses a band doesn't mean that you have to like them.
obviously, i completely disagree. i think continuing to call themselves the who is disrespectful and a sellout move. however, whatever...it really is not important to me. as i said, i was never a huge fan and i would never pay to see daultrey and townshend, and most especially not at the prices they charge. i far prefer pearl jam covering the who than the who themselves, or what's left of em anyway....
obviously moon has been out of the picture a long while, but now with entwistle gone...i just personally think the who is dead. thus why i think the name 'the who' should be retired from anything further. just my 2 cents.

Having seen The Who as recently as last month at VH1 Rock Honours I can assure you they do have a full band, not just Roger DALTREY and Pete Townshend. But I agree, ticket prices have gotten to be ridiculous.
IMO the reason why tickets are so high is a
"keeping with the Joneses" thing.
If who they consider peer musicians, are charging big bucks, they don't want to look like they are playing the Emerald Queen Casino & grateful for it.
Plus they have umpteen roadies & roadie grandchildren to provide for.
